FAVORITE FRIDAY FINDS WEEK TWO

Garden
I am all about being outside these days, and even though I don't have a huge garden I love looking at all the wonderful things that are available for today's garden.
One of my favorite things growing up was watching the birds in my grandmother's bird bath. This reminds me of that bird bath, but with a little bit of a modern look. The birds can find it (HERE). Well. you might have to actually purchase it for them.

FAVORITE FRIDAY FINDS WEEK 6
This post contains affiliate links
Didn't a week used to have seven days? Because it seems to me that Friday rolls around a lot faster than it used to. Anyhoo here it is Friday again and that means we get to have fun shopping.
Fashion
For some reason my pants that I wore last summer seem to have shrunk while in my closet over the winter. (That's my story and I am sticking to it)
I recently bought a pair of these pants and love them, and just ordered two more colors.

FAVORITE FRIDAY FINDS NUMBER 3
I have been sitting here the last few days with a cranky back, which I managed to injure changing the sheets on my bed. I seriously think there should be a warning label added to bedding.
On the upside it's given me lots of time to reflect on the important things in life. You know things like changing up my bathroom decor.

FRENCH COUNTRY KITCHEN AND DINING DECOR: FRIDAY FAVORITE FINDS 15
French country style may also be referred to as Provincial, and although the Provincial style is somewhat more formal, it has elements that can be added into French country.
French country is loved around the world for its comfort and casual elegance, while never feeling ostentatious.
As the French are known for their fabulous cooking, I thought I would focus today on the wonderful kitchen and dining areas that are an important part of a French country home.
Dining Nooks
Picture yourself in a charming dining nook tucked away in a rustic cozy kitchen, with colorful textiles, antique paintings and trays, exposed beams, and beautifully stained wood floors.
This nook is a perfect spot to sit with a cup of tea after a long day.
Dining Nooks aren't just confined to kitchens. Small dining rooms can also be a nook in a French country-style home.
Here, the homeowner has combined a high-end light fixture with an antique chair and down-home accessories to give the room a French flea market feel.
Simple white ironstone vases are perfect accessories for holding flowers fresh from the garden or market.
Dining Rooms
In this room, traditional French country motifs fabric on the window treatments, combine with white dining chairs paired with a country table, a grain sack runner, and simple plates displayed on the wall.
An adorable dog is definitely a perfect addition.
This dining room, which features blue and white, has beautiful rustic touches of a plate rack and dining table with chairs.
A beautiful brass chandelier is a focal point in the room and vintage copper molds are perfect as wall decor.
Kitchens
This French country-inspired blue and white kitchen features vintage watering cans, trays, and glass accessories,
while the white background of this chic French country kitchen showcases copper cookware and wrought iron hardware.

FRIDAY FAVORITE FINDS 14: PARISIAN STYLE DECOR
We can't all live in a apartment in Paris, but we can add Parisian style decor to our homes.
Monday's post showed rooms decorated in the Parisian style. If you missed that you can read it here. It will give you ideas on how to incorporate these elements into you own decor.
Parisian Style Furniture
Velvet sofas seem to be a centerpiece for this style, This blue velvet loveseat has fabulous lines. and a very modern Paris apartment look.
Curved back dining chairs are perfect for a Paris apartment dining room.
I think I may have fallen in love with this Enchantment three drawer dresser. It is definitely enchanting.
Parisian Mirrors
Mirrors are an essential part of a Parisian home.
A beautiful Baroque gold mirror would be lovely in an entry hall.
What would a Paris apartment be without a vintage ornate brass mirror tray for your vanity.
Parisian mirrors are all about the gold, gold, gold and this ornate mirror would be gorgeous over a vintage fireplace.
Parisian Wall Art
Parisian wall art can be an ornate antique Victorian framed lithograph,
or a colorful modern print.

and this book that features Parisian chic.

FRIDAY FAVORITE FINDS WEEK 9: ALL ABOUT SUMMER
Can you believe that it is almost June? I am so excited because I love summer.
I love waking up each morning to the sound of the birds. There is nothing better than opening my shades and letting the beautiful summer light in. When night comes I'll be checking to see if the lightning bugs have appeared yet.
I hear people complain about the heat, but I guess my heart must be in the south, because I love it.
So for this last Friday in May my favorite finds are all about summer.
All About The Birds
Speaking of birds, I love bringing them up close and personal with a window bird feeder.

SETTING A PRETTY OUTDOOR TABLE
I love these simple woven placemats made of natural water hyacinth. They are perfect for a farmhouse or summer beach cottage look.

If Covid has taught me one thing it is you can buy anything you want online.
Fashion (sort of)
The term fashion is being used loosely here, because after a year spent mainly at home I am not sure what fashion is anymore. One thing I do know is that comfortable pajama pants with pockets are a must. These seem to fit my criteria and the polka dots are pretty sweet. (HERE)

FAVORITE FINDS 18: SHAKING THINGS UP
I decided to do things a bit differently for Friday Favorite Finds. I'm always finding new blogs to read, new places to shop, and other fun things when I am perusing the web, but I never seem to find a way to share them.
With that in mind, I am shaking things up.
The first thing I want to share is the new to me antique cabinet I found. I have been looking for a piece of furniture for several weeks, with no luck but when I walked into the thrift store yesterday, there it was.
Look at all of that nice bare wall space above it. I will share what I do with that in another post.
New Lovely Reads
Have you all looked at my Lovely Reads page? I am always finding wonderful blogs to read and I am adding them to the page as I find them.
I'm sure that many of you know Kim at Exquisitely Unremarkable. She has great home decor and DIY tips, so if you haven't visited her yet or in a while you will definitely want to do so.
Do you know Ms. Toody Goo Shoes? She loves to travel and share it all with us. I will be living vicariously through her from now on.
Home Decor
You may have noticed the vintage brass candlestick lamp on the new to me antique cabinet. I bought the pair of them in 1980 and they are still beautiful with their original black shades.
Shop for a similar lamp.
I have a definite weakness for beautiful vintage and antique plates and although I do sell many of them in my Etsy shop I also have a large collection of my own.
I hate hiding them away in cupboards so I display them on shelves and hang them on my walls.
Plate hangers always seemed to be expensive, but I found this pack of ten plate hangers at a reasonable price.
Another thing that I collect and love is baskets. When you live in a small space baskets make a great storage solution.
In my bathroom, this vintage wicker laundry basket holds extra towels.
Shop for a similar laundry basket
TV Watching and Reading
I have to admit that I am an Olympics junkie. I love all of the sports, but when I am not watching the Olympics, I watch season five of The Heart Guy on Acorn TV.
It's hilarious, and it doesn't hurt that he is pretty easy on the eyes.
I have to confess that I get most of my books from the library, because I just don't have space for a lot of books and because I can't afford to buy many books.
There is one book that I treat myself to each year and that is the new Louise Penny Inspector Gamache mystery.
This year's Book, The Madness of Crowds, will be out on August 24 and I have preordered mine.

FOR THE LOVE OF PETS
Simple Pleasures #10
Aren't pets wonderful? They give us so much love and joy. I don't currently have a pet of my own, but I do have a granddog and a grandcat.
My granddog is Winky. She is a chorkie that my daughter, Cary, and her family rescued. They always adopt rescue dogs.
Winky loves me and is always so excited to see me. If she could jump high enough to get into my arms, she would.
I could go up to the window to interact with her, but believe me when I say that she would completely ignore me. She has much better things to do than give me her time.

What I'm Watching
This week two of my favorite shows are back on PBS. Grantchester and Call the Midwife have new seasons just in time for cozy Sunday nights at home.
I don't know about you, but the weeks are flying by. It seems like every time I turn around it is Friday again.
I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting today.

FAVORITE FRIDAY FINDS WEEK 7: HOME DECOR AND MORE
It has been a busy week for me. I have started to rearrange my kitchen here, and tried to cut down on driving as there is a gas shortage in my neck of the woods. Since Thursday is my thrifting day, I also swung by the grocery on my way home.
I have found so many new and wonderful finds this week, and I can't wait to share them with you.

FRIDAY FAVORITE FINDS WEEK 12: FUN WITH AMAZON
As you may have noticed I am working on a new blog theme today. It will take me some time to get the kinks worked out, but I wanted to get this post out for you today, so please bear with me.
Also, I apologize to those of you who received emails that were bare. Changing companies who send out my emails created some problems. Fingers crossed that it is worked out.
In the meantime let's have fun shopping.
Tech Fun
What could be more fun than a 4th generation Echo Dot (certified for Humans) with premium sound, smart home hub, and Alexa.
I can still hoola hoop, sort of. (Just don't bother asking Tessa about my abilities. She is bound to lie)
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Don't forget to drink lots of water while having all of that fun. Even a water bottle can do more than just hold water now (No, I am not talking about holding wine)
Nothing can ruin a vacation faster than a drowned cell phone, so make sure to get a waterproof case before you leave home.
Okay, a sand proof beach mat is my dream.
