Simple Pleasures #26

It has been one of those weeks. You know the kind I am talking about.

It is the kind that drives you to eat sweets. First of all, you may notice that this Simple Pleasures post is a day late.

You may ask why, but in my defense.....okay I have no defense.

I've just been off on the days this week. Thursday was my daughter's birthday and I kept thinking all day that it was Wednesday.

Of course, we didn't actually have cupcakes because I forgot to stop at the gluten-free bakery and get some.

Then my car started making a bad noise and I told my daughters that I was going to wait until Friday to take it in.

Of course, as it was actually Thursday and not Wednesday I had to get up early on the actual Friday.

I ended up taking it to two different places for quotes and took three Lyft rides.

The repairs are going to cost me an organ donation and the Lyft rides cost me a week's worth of groceries.

I thought that Lyft and Uber were supposed to be inexpensive.

A Gluten-Free Sweet

Is there anything yummier than fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies?

I think not.

Your kids will never even know these are gluten-free.

In fact, take them to your next family get-together. They will think you are eating gluten again.

I'm not going to tell them any differently.

I will be relaxing this weekend while watching the Olympics.
The winter games are my favorite.
I have plenty of hot chocolate to get me through the weekend.

  2. Oh boy now I am hungry for something sweet after seeing all these yummy bake goods. You really had a hard week. So sorry. It is crazy how expensive everything is now. Unfortunately we need a car and that brings on the evil of repairs when they break. Hoping the weekend will go a little better for you. xoxo Kris

  3. Oh you tempt me so much! I'm not eating many sweets lately.. trying to "get off" of them as they are so addictive! And even gluten free things bother me now, so if I make anything, it's using almond and coconut flour. All the goodies look so good.. and I'm sorry about car repairs. It's the devil to have to have a car and thus have to pay for repairs. My mechanic here in this little town will come and get my vehicle, take it to his shop, fix it and return it to me! That's what I love about small towns! Have a good weekend.. Marilyn

  4. Ouch, that's too bad about your car. It's definitely a good reason to indulge in sweets! Hmmm, a Do Nothing cake? Sounds right up my alley - gotta check that one out!
