CRAZY WEATHER

Monday, January 31, 2022

I have lived a number of places where they would say if you don't like the weather just wait a day.

Well, I was liking the weather here in Georgia just fine until this weekend.

daffodils

It Was Spring

Last week I shared the news that spring had sprung here. The daffodils were blooming and the trees were blossoming.

The birds were singing, and all I needed was a light sweater when I walked outside.

The bright yellow dandelions were even popping up.

All was well in my little world.

Winter Sneaked Back In

Saturday morning I woke up, opened the blinds, and .....wait...what?

There was a layer of white stuff everywhere. No, No, No.

dusting of snow on park bench

I quickly looked at my weather app and it said that it was 25 degrees with a wind chill of 12.

Unacceptable!!

This is my third winter here and it has never been that cold.

I know that compared to the terrible winter storm in the northeast this weekend I shouldn't complain, but hey I live here because I don't want freezing snowy weather.

I do hope that everyone made it through that awful storm and are safe in their homes.

As for me, I haven't been able to force myself to go out and see the daffodils and the blossoms killed off.

The Forecast Ahead

The week coming up looks better. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s, which are more seasonable temperatures for the beginning of February.

coffee and reading

Perfect weather for a walk outside, followed by a cup of coffee, and a good book.

Not quite sure where January went. I remember when it used to drag on forever, but now, like the rest of time, it just zooms past.

February is the birthday month for both of my daughters, so I am looking forward to the three of us getting together.

Hopefully, we will have a nice day in between the two birthdays where we can get together outside.

Keeping Busy

Life is good and I am keeping busy.

I have been working on my Etsy shop and have added digital art prints from the 1900s along with some other vintage items.

Hopefully, I will be able to get out this week and do some thrifting. I have kept out of the thrift stores since the first of the year because of Omicron and because I was waiting on some Kn95 masks I had ordered.

What are you all doing while you wait for spring to arrive?

  2. We are cold here in Illinois. This is just winter for us. I have to say the weather everywhere has been so weird and not in the normal range for any of us across the country. Stay warm and hope your beautiful temps come back soon. xoxo Kris

  3. Winter will be here on the mountain top for a few months more, although we'll see signs of spring to come perhaps by the end of March....if the snow melts. I planted a bunch more daffodils in the fall so I'm pretty excited about that!

  4. We didn't get too much snow but it's cold. I know most don't but I like cold and nesting

    Stay warm

  5. It seems the weather is crazy most everywhere! Although I hear that back home in my area of NJ, they only got about 6" of snow, my friend in MA got 26". And, here in Florida, it only reached the 50s on Saturday, and was 39 on Sunday morning. I know -- no sympathy from my northern friends!

  6. Ugh. We had a legit blizzard here this weekend and while it's sunny now, the snow it out there and it's cold. I hope it warms up in your neck of the woods.
