FINDING HOPE

Friday, April 28, 2023

"The power of hope upon human exertion and happiness

is wonderful."
                                   Abraham Lincoln

Hope can be a difficult thing to find in trying times.

We are living in a complicated world.

It is a world where we are faced with personal as well as global uncertainties.

There are many days, especially over this past year when I have had to dig very deep to find hope, but I know that hope is my source of strength.

Hope sustains me when I feel that things around me are falling apart.

Meditation and prayer give me the strength to wrap myself in a cloak of hope, to awake to the power of hope that is within me always.

"Hope is being able to see that there is light
despite all of the darkness."
                                                 Desmond Tutu

Even those who are suffering the most unimaginable pain and suffering can find hope.

It seems to arise from the depths of the darkness and bring them back into the light.

Even on the days that I struggle the most, I remind myself of the struggles of others.

The future may look frightening, but hope is like the beautiful wildflowers that grow along the edge of dark woods.

The beauty will sustain us through the darkness. The beauty will still be there when we emerge on the other side.

On a side note, Blogger has decided to not forward your comments to me and so I have missed some.

Until it gets straightened out I will answer them here.

  1. Have you tried going into blogger and where the comments are in your setting make sure your email is in there correctly. It kicks it out every so often and you have to put it back in again. Happy Friday. Have a great weekend. Hugs. Kris

  2. Blogger is a fickle friend for sure, I've more and more people leaving anonymous comments lately, because of browser changes and Blogger settings. Grrr. I find that I'm more hopeful in spring and summer. I don't know if it's more sunshine or the ability to get outside on the beach, but it's definitely easier that in winter.

  3. This is such an insightful post. I've had to overcome some sadness these past few months and getting out in nature has helped me most. It's calming and shows me there's a great big beautiful world out there for me to enjoy. Hugs, Diane

  4. Living with hope is an important part of every day in my little corner of the world. We are definitely living in complicated world but looking beyond the complications I still see hope. I made a quilt a year or so ago and named it "Living with Hope". It has a double meaning - my maternal grandmother's name was Hope and I lived with her and my grandfather off and on as I was growing up and of course I live with Hope every day of my life.
