Simple Pleasures #14

Thursdays are always my day to head to the thrift store and yesterday was no exception even though we seem to have gone from summer straight into winter.

When I left the thrift store it was pouring down rain so I planned to go walk at the indoor track.

Unfortunately, a small plane had crashed on the road leading there so I decided to head on home instead. I was grateful that it didn't land on me and grateful that no one was injured.

Simple Inspiration

No matter what is happening in my life I try to find something to be grateful for and in this month of Thanksgiving I try to practice gratitude each day.

Wednesday I dedicated my post to my daughter, Katy, who has been living with a primary immunodeficiency. I am so honored to be her mother and grateful for every day that we have together.

Some days gratitude is just a simple thank you.

Lovely Reads

One of the things I am very grateful for is all of the fellow bloggers I have connected with over the years and the friendships that have developed.

I love featuring their posts here for you to read.

How fun to early Christmas shop with Kris.

CoCo shared a pumpkin bread recipe.

If you want to keep track of what you are grateful for I found this Gratitude Journal for Women. I found that writing it down makes me feel doubly grateful.

Yes, it's okay if you want to buy some of these for yourself. I won't tell.

What I'm Watching

Season 6 of Shetland begins on Britbox on November 9. I have to confess to having a major crush on Douglas Henshall. If you have never watched Shetland I highly recommend it.

  2. Ok I am LOVING those boots. I really need a pair too as I am sick of getting my sneakers all dirty in the chicken pen and then having to keep washing them everyday. Thank you for sharing!

  3. Ok I see 4 things I want already. Going back to click on them. I love all the connections made with blogging too. I have been blogging for 13 years and have made some lovely friendships which include you sweet friend. It always amazes me how we can click with people through blogging and become friends without ever meeting. Such a wonderful thing for all of us to be thankful. Happy Weekend. xoxo

  5. So many things I want! Those boots especially, and the kitty spoons, and the gratitude journal, and love the look and "smells" of that recipe since I love pumpkin and spicey things so much. Thank you for sharing.... Marilyn

  6. I read somewhere that writing down things you are grateful for actually has a greater effect psychologically than just thinking them. I need to go back to doing that. I, too, am grateful for all my blog friends! I am grateful I found yours!
