Simple Pleasures #15

Have you ever noticed how sometimes life just gets in the way of living?

still life

You make plans, but then life just sends you constant curveballs.

Your brakes start squealing (fortunately they are fine, but just decided they want to squeal), you spend the afternoon getting your bone scan for osteoporosis and the technician asks if you were ever diagnosed with scoliosis (what??? she showed me my x-ray and my spine is curved. Well that is not good).....

For some reason, this song has been playing in my head all week.

What I'm Watching

I'm really enjoying the latest season of Call the Midwife on PBS. I cry every time a baby is born, but I love it.

I read all of the P D James books, and now I am enjoying the remake of the Dalgliesh stories on Acorn

  1. I watch call the Midwife too. Love the series. All great ideas today. Glad your brakes are good. Glad you got your dexa scan too. Scoliosis usually can be left alone unless you have issues or pain. Most cases are mild I hope yours was found to be that. Have a good Friday today and great weekend. xoxo Kris

  2. I love all of your picks today! I've put the shacket (never heard of that term!) on my wish list on Amazon, same with slippers and the book. I haven't had a bone scan for a few years but need one.. although I have ostopenia and have had it for years and they want you to take meds for it.. and I don't or won't. There are physical therapy things that you can do for scholiosis. Check with a good physical therapist. Enjoy the weekend! Marilyn

  3. Shackets are my new obsession!! Love that one. Also, the same thing happened to me when I had an xray last year, I was told, "Well aside from your scoliosis"...um what?? Oh well. I guess if it hasn't bothered me by now! Haha

  5. I was also told recently by a doctor that I had a curved spine - surprise to me, too! He told me to go for physical therapy where they would show me exercises to keep it from getting worse. I did go, and I do the exercises, but who knows if will make a difference? I\'m going to check out the "Dream Life" link you shared.
