FIVE ENGLISH COTTAGE LIVING ROOM IDEAS

Monday, October 4, 2021

Coming across English cottage-style living rooms is like eating chocolate for me.

I could sit for hours consuming the deliciousness of each space.

19th Century Barn

English Barn living room

I am always fascinated by homes that have been transformed from barns. In this living room, the owners have centered the space with a beautiful blue velvet sofa and an ottoman upholstered in an old rug.

What an appealing place to sit and read one of the many books that surround the room.

London Terrace Home

London terrace home living room

The living room in this London terrace home is filled with furniture, textiles, and folk art pieces giving it the feel of a country cottage.

Green walls contrast with the deep blue of the trim. A patterned chair, Persian-inspired rug, and antique sheep add to the cozy charm.

London Sitting Room

chintz filled living room

The home is a chintz lover's dream with chintz covered walls chintz curtains, and chintz chairs. Originally split into two flats, it is now an elegant single home. The expanded room is filled with antiques and reproductions.

Sydney Cottage

The owners of this small cottage have gone bold with their colors. Bold apple green walls and woodwork set a background for red accents.

It is a cozy yet bright space.

South London House

London living room

These two sofas are the perfect scale for this small space South London home. The coffee table and fireplace feature matching stone while antiques, an original etching, and floor to ceiling bookshelves finish the space.

  1. Oh, I love every piece of upholstered furniture in those rooms. They don't make it like that here in the states...well, not affordably anyways. And definitely not at Raymour and Flanigan!! Hahaha!
