FIND YOUR LIVING ROOM STYLE

Monday, May 24, 2021

The kitchen may be the heart of the home. but most people spend the majority of their time in the living room. That's why it's important to know just what your style is and how that style translates into comfort for you.

My style is English country cottage. It is what makes me feel like my little living room is the most comfortable place I can be.

As much as I love my style, I know it isn't for everyone.

A barn conversion living room with stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and colorful sofas may be just what you love. The pairing of modern and farmhouse make for a perfect combination to give this space a new contemporary feel.

Maybe you dream of living in a coastal home. Nothing says coastal quite like white-washed clapboard walls, exposed wooden beams, and a traditional open fireplace. Seashore finds add to the seaside vibe.

How about a rustic country living room with wood burner, exposed beams, and glam furniture? Once again we find a traditional style given a contemporary twist.

This coastal living room has a somewhat softer style than the first one we looked at. It embraces the imperfections of the seashore with a relaxed feel that says it's okay to track in a little sand.

Any living room that has lots of hanging plants gets an A+ rating from me. It has a great Scandi vibe.

If you love color and lots of throw pillows this might be the style for you. With neutral painted walls and furniture, you can change the look of your space by switching accessories.

This fresh country living room is definitely a look I love, with its foliage prints and comfy sofa.

This was so much fun I think I may have to do it again.

Do you have a favorite?

  2. Your french cottage style is so pretty Laura and I love that you love plants to add life and freshness to your decor. These are all great looks. What I love most now is everyone can have what they love and no one is doing cookie cutter style anymore. Whatever you love is the best decor for your own home. Happy Monday. xoxo

  3. What a good selection of living room styles! My favorite is the first one. Plants do add life to a room, as well as helping to clean the air. I used to work with an interior designer who would not even contemplate adding any type of greenery. Hopefully the cookie cutter days are gone and we know ourselves better. Our homes should reflect what we love, not some trend.

  4. I think all these rooms are pretty in their own way. I like all sorts of different styles...cottage, mid-century modern, farmhouse, french country, Scandinavian, vintage, granny chic, etc. In my own home, I simply go with what I love, which is a mixture of a lot of these.
