THRIFTING ADVENTURES

Monday, February 24, 2020

I can't believe it is already Monday again and I am off bright and early to the thrift store. Well bright might not have been the right word. I am never too bright early in the morning these days and the weather is anything but bright this morning.

Made in Czech Republic plates
in Etsy shop now

Rain, rain, go away. Come again...in a couple of months.

I'm excited to show you what I found thrifting last week and how I am using a couple of my finds in my own apartment.

Gorgeous tole painted heavy Shaker style wood box
will be in Etsy shop soon

I love the anticipation almost as much as I love the hunt.

I always am one of the first in line because I am so afraid I will miss out on something. I guess I am like a kid in a candy store.

Oh my, can you believe this Vera Kirk Amish batik
print. Yep it's in the shop.

There have been so many wonderful finds lately. I'm beginning to think that everyone is going minimalist and cleaning out their homes.

How else can you explain so many amazing things.

Now let's move on to what I found for myself. I wasn't really looking for a pillow, but this one was calling my name,

I had the perfect spot for it and it was only $1.

But that definitely was not the best thing. A couple of years ago I knocked over one of my brass converted oil lamps and broke the shade. It was going to cost me an arm and a leg to replace it so it has been sitting forlornly at the back of my closet.

Two weeks ago I decided to buy a simple white shade at Kudzu to replace it. It cost me $57.00. Eeeek!!! what was I thinking. Fortunately when I got it home it was too small for the lamp so I returned it. I had never seen one at a thrift store, but I was bound and determined to find one.

Guess what was waiting for me last week.

It's perfect. I love the green color and it was only $4.50. I could hardly contain my glee.

I wonder what will be waiting for me today.

P.S. Because I love my blog readers so much I am offering a 10% off discount just for you. If you see something you can't live without in the Etsy Shop just use coupon code BLOGFRIEND
