MESSY HOUSE, ERRANDS, AND PRETTY LEAVES

Tuesday, November 19, 2019

I really hate a messy house. When things are cluttered I feel out of sorts, and as I am already out of sorts with my knee, having my house messy is making me grumpy.

I spent Friday through Sunday at home, resting my knee and doing my prescribed physical therapy exercises. They are painful, but they are helping.

My physical therapist has an app for my phone where I can record my progress and keep track of concerns. When I go in today they can see how I am doing.

Back to the messy house. I still wasn't able to walk around the house over the weekend without pain, and after a couple of weeks my house is messy. Yes, I wash my dishes and make my bed, but I can't vacuum and I haven't been able to get around well enough to do other housecleaning.

I'm feeling like my home has turned into my grandmother's where things always seemed a little dusty. My mom told me how meticulous my grandmother was in younger years about keeping her home clean, but I guess we all run out of steam at some point.

Yesterday I was able to get out and run some errands. I made a run to the post office to drop off a couple of packages and to the library to pick up another book. Then it was off to Aldi to stock up for another week. Aldi really has been a blessing this month as it has most of what I need and it is easy to get around in.

The weather was gorgeous and so many of the trees are now changing here in Atlanta. I love fall weather, especially when it is sunny with temperatures in the upper 50s and mid 60s during the day.

Things are looking up.

  1. I am so jealous of your nice weather. We are still very cold up here and hardly had fall. It is hard when we cannot get around and do the things we want too. You are smart to hold off even if it feels messy and rest and ice and elevate that knee. Your patience will pay off in the long run say the girl that does not do patience well either lol! Have a good day and enjoy the pretty trees and wonderful weather.

  2. I feel the same. I look around and things are dusty and my bathroom hasn't been cleaned in over a week and yet I don't feel well enough at this point to attack all these things. Oh well. We are the only ones who see it, and the pets don't care.

  3. Hi Laura,

I understand how it feels not to be able to get around. Try to be patient and rest your knee. If you push it, it can become worse and it will take even longer to heal.

    Enjoy the beautiful leaves.

  4. I enjoy Aldi as well. It is in a neighboring town for me, but worth the drive. I hope you continue with your PT and be well!!!!!
