STAY AT HOME DAY

Wednesday, August 21, 2019

I have so much I need to be doing. I always seem to be on the run these days and I really do have a lot of things I need to be doing at home.

There are always the everyday chores that will soon start to pile up when neglected, and I have been neglecting some of them.

I have a new light colored carpet that I don't want to get dirty, so I take my shoes off in the front hall. The streets of Atlanta are really dirty and I noticed that my entry hall needs to be mopped more than I really like to do it. UGH!!

I don't have a washer and dryer, so I have to go to the laundry room, which is down one floor from me. It really isn't a problem. I can just pop my clothes in and then come back upstairs while they are washing and drying. The problem is that I really hate to do laundry. Is anyone else with me on that?

Besides my chores, I am trying to build my vintage selling business back up, so I have been out thrifting a lot recently. I love that part of my business, but I need to stay home and take photographs and list what I have purchased. That part of the business is more tedious to me.

Tedious or not I am not independently wealthy so as the old saying goes, I need to get my butt in gear.

  1. Laura, There seems to always be some chores to do ....even when we want a quiet day at home. I like washing dishes and doing laundry. I wish my washer and dryer were not in the basement. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. I wish I liked those chores. I used to love to iron when I was younger, but these days my iron sits in the closet except when I have to iron vintage linens.

  3. I don’t mind laundry...and I fold it right out of the dryer so there’s no mounding baskets sitting around.....but I do not like vacuuming. Or ironing.....
I loved the pretty pictures of your home....

  4. I like your house plants dotting spaces in your apartment. I just do laundry in my European style washer. I've never gone to the laundry room here. Nathan has told me what awful things he has found in the washers, so I would rather wash by hand than go there anyway. I've just always done my laundry here.

    1. I think the plants are starting to take over. LOL. We aren't allowed to have washers in our apartments, but they keep the washers and dryers really clean here.

  5. I can totally identify, Laura. Things pile up here to astronomical proportions and it's not funny. Your apartment looks lovely, by the way. Love those plants. Take care and have a lovely rest of the week. Susan

  6. I am washing towels and my shower curtain today. I somehow managed to flood the bathroom floor when I took my shower yesterday. Go figure.

  7. You know the old saying there are three things in life that are for sure. Death, Taxes and Laundry lol! I feel like living small now that I am always cleaning something because we utilize every room. Happy Thursday.

  8. Laura, I love chores, lol.. specially in the weekends as is when I have more of a time to dedicate it to my home. Week days my mom's got me so busy.
Your apartment looks crispy clean and orderly now. I love indoor plants, as I too live in an apartment and so I even buy flower pots for my kitchen window sill... they make me happy as I cook.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
