OUT WITH THE NEW, IN WITH THE OLD

Monday, March 7, 2016

It seems like only yesterday that I was gleefully buying a new fall and winter wardrobe. It had been a while since I had splurged like that, but the legging, jeggings, sweaters, and boots were calling my name.

Now, I am ready to fold those babies up and stash them in a place that I can't see.

March is here, and with it has come a forecast for much warmer temps. I am definitely not one to look a warm weather gift horse in the mouth, so I will be pulling out some cotton pants and tops.

I'm not sure my budget stretches to a new spring and summer wardrobe, so I will have to see what I have from last year.

This changing of the seasons from winter to spring has always excited me and this year is no exception.

I plan to enjoy every bit of warm weather, so if you are looking for me I will be sitting on the patio, taking long walks, enjoying the flowers, and hitting the yard sales. But first I will be diving into my drawers to pull out those comfortable old warm weather clothes.

What do you look forward to each spring?

  3. I just love all the flowers emerging. Every time I find a new one I am so happy. I never buy clothes. Maybe once a year, I'll order an extra pair of shorts or socks. My money sure does not go to clothes!

    1. The daffodils are in bloom her. That always excites me. I love to walk around the neighborhood and see what has started to bloom. I don't buy a lot of clothes either, but it had been a few years and I definitely needed some.

  4. I'll be glad to put away the winter clothes, but I'm always puzzled as to what I wore the last season. I don't like to clothes shop, but I need some new things. I've already been wearing capris and t-shirts...I love my capris! The flowers are gorgeous. I can't wait to plant my pots on the back patio and in the front of the house.

    1. I'm always puzzled about what I wore the last season too, Cheryl. I dug through my drawer this morning and pulled out some capris and a tee shirt, but realize that I will need some new capris this summer. It is really too early to plant pots outside here even though the next eight days will be warm. There is always a chance for cold weather to head back in.

  5. Some things I like about Spring: the warmish breezes coming through an open window; the sighting of catkins and robins and green grass.

Thanks for a lovely post ... Your photos are bursting with Spring promise.

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead...

  7. We are in the 80s all week so I actually went and got 4 new tops. I had all kinds of coupons and discounts so they were a bargain and I'm ready for something new this Spring. Enjoy your week sweet friend. Hugs, Diane

  8. That sounds like a good idea! I'm loving the warm weather we've been having this week too. I actually wore shorts for the first time today! It felt liberating too. Sunny days just lift my spirit and give me energy. I'm starting to see flowers blooming on trees now around my subdivision. Glad that you're enjoying the nice weather where you live too.
