mama told me not to lie

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

I don't know about you, but the worst thing I could do as a child was lie.

Well, apparently someone didn't get that message, and now he is facing his day of reckoning.

Yes, my friends, it is Punxsutawney Phil, and I say it is not a moment too soon.

An Ohio attorney is "lightheartedly" suing him for being a no good lying varmint for predicting there would not be six more weeks of winter weather.

It seems Phil is already working up his defense.

I'm not buying that nonsense and I'm ready to offer myself up as a witness.

Wait, I'm not allowed to travel until mid April and by then all of this will be forgotten and I will be digging in the garden.

SIGH!!!

I was so looking forward to my moment of glory.

  1. Well, it's no better in the south right now! We're getting snow flurries and cold cloudy weather as I write this. Yucky! Who "pissed off" Mother Nature? She must be mad about something because she's letting us have it! LOL!

  4. You have to go by General Beauregard Lee in the South. He predicted 6 more weeks of Winter. http://www.yellowrivergameranch.com/about-general-beau-lee/

  6. Poor guy, screw up one time, and you get sued. The bleeding hearts are popping up around here, but the lawn is frozen this morning.

I go by the birds, not the groundhogs...they seem so much more accurate.

  11. Very winter-like weather here too. March is much more a winter month than it was decades ago. I guess everything changes sooner or later!!

  12. It has been cold here too, although I don't think Phil has his radar set on Idaho. Funny post Laura!

  14. It's horrible no matter where you are. I have family and friends in Florida and Georgia and Alabama and It's cold there too. I tell ya, I think we'd have to go to Mexico or the islands , to be warm in the winter any more. But you could always Skype in your testimony. LOL! I'm hoping it's going to go up hill from now on!!?? :D and I'm not taking NO for an answer!

  17. This just cracked me up.....you are a riot. I have had it with the weather I can't tell you, I find that I am edgy and getting cranky. Everytime I go outside it is wet, cold and windy!
