A FEELING OF RESTLESSNESS

The light is changing in the sky. The air is softer. Summer is waning.

Yes, I know that it is still summer. I know that we have a hot week ahead in Georgia, but there is something about the beginning of September that creates a feeling of restlessness in me.

Maybe my body has memories of school starting back up after Labor Day.

Maybe there is a sense of needing to get things accomplished before cooler weather arrives.

Fall has always been the time of year for me to clean and organize my home. This year feels no different.

I guess that is what gave me the impetus to move my desk the other day. If you missed that you can read about it here. I want things to be in order when the cooler weather gets here.

I know it seems like I should have everything in order since I just moved in in April, but I put a lot of things away without really organizing them. Also, I need to finish the work on my mom's estate. It all takes time and I need to get started.

I sold something on Etsy Friday and realized that I had no idea where it was. So many places to hide in such a small apartment. Fortunately I found it pretty quickly.

I think this feeling of restlessness is telling me to get my home in order.
  1. my mind is not calm if my house is not settled, it stresses me out. Now I just have to work on training those kids! Have a lovely day.

  2. Laura, I know that feeling when you can't find something...yikes. I told my hubby just two days ago..we have to start thinning out things here. Getting rid of clutter. After so many months of taking care of Ted, he is able to do a few things now...so it's time to throw out tons of old stuff. I know you will get your home like you want it. That will take away stress for sure. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. It can be hard to throw away stuff, at least it is for me, but I feel so much better with less clutter.

  4. Kind of the same feeling with me. But I'm so absorbed in Charlie's health that I barely have the energy for anything else these days. You have such lovely old books.

  5. I love my old books. Of course you have to focus on Charlie. He is your priority.

  6. I agree Laura with the weather starting to change and the days getting shorter we all feel that need to get things ready for fall and winter. Glad you sold something on Etsy that is a good thing.

  7. I love your desk and the books! Plus that stack of vintage suitcases! Oh, my! Yes, I need order in my home, too. It’s a high maintenance home but I love it!

  9. The pull of the round of the year can be very strong. I often find myself unexplainably wanting to do something, or feeling a certain way, and then realizing that is just what I did or felt a year ago.

  10. I'm on edge when the house is cluttered from projects. It tends to make me anxious having things allover. I have to keep myself from worrying about it to focus on what I'm working on.

    Enjoy your evening
