Sometimes it's a case of the blues. Sometimes it is situational depression. Sometimes depression is clinical.

There are many treatments for depression and you should always consult a professional if your depressed mood lasts longer than two weeks, if you have thoughts of suicide or harming yourself, or if your depression is not something that you can put into concrete terms and feel you can solve yourself.

inspiration quotes depression

Many people talk about having the blues and so I thought I would compile a list of inspirational quotes to help you get through those bluesy feeling times.

  1. I have dealt with mild depression before that stemmed from major anxiety. So I take anti-depressants every day and have been taking them since 1997! Mine is clinical not caused by a certain trauma or life circumstance. It's believed to be a seratonin imbalance. I tried stopping them once and then fell hard again. So, now I stay on them. I liked the 3rd quote you posted. That resonated with me to make me feel better.

    1. I am glad to hear that you are staying on your prescribed medications, Kelly. Clinical depression is like any other illness. It needs professional treatment. Happy that one of the quotes resonated with you.

  2. Laura,
You and I are definitely on the same wave length!
    Have a fun Saturday,

  3. I've been on antidepressants since probably 1983. They didn't recognize it, but I was very depressed as a young child. The difference with me on antidepressants is night and day. I say if you can fix things yourself, then do. But if you can't, don't just suffer.

    1. Absolutely, Brenda. If you're suffering from clinical depression you definitely need to have professional intervention.

  4. I love these quotes and will copy some down in my journal. I usually feel a bit let down in the Fall....later on. I have to 'deal with it'. Very good post. Hugs, Diane

    1. We're heading into the time of year when I need these quotes too, Diane.

  5. Great quotes! Numbers 6 & 7 are my favorites.
