LIFE MUSINGS AND WHAT I AM READING

Saturday, November 10, 2018

My computer seems to have broken bad. Tuesday I laboriously typed out a blog post, but as soon as I was ready to post it my computer wiped it out. This has happened three times over the last month. The other two times I rewrote the posts, but with my hand in a brace and the fact that it is painful for me to t ype, I just gave up.

The other thing that it is doing you can see in the word type in the previous paragraph. It is doing it constantly. I can't afford a new computer right now, so if anyone has any experience with this I would love to hear your suggestions for fixing it.

I am copying and pasting it into a second blog post as I write so that I won't lose it all, but it definitely is a pain.

The weather seems to be changing on a daily basis. It has gone from 60 degrees at the first of the week to the 20s this morning . Tuesday we are expecting our first snow. I am not ready for that.

I have been spending  more time on Instagram lately. I have found that I am enjoying it more. It's not easy to build up a following so if you have an account I would love to have you follow me and I will definitely follow you back.

I think I have gotten over 500 followers about ten times, but then I drop back down below 500 again. Frustrating.

Life seems to be zooming by. Every time I turn around it is the weekend again. I can't seem to figure out what happens to the rest of the week.

In less than two weeks it will be Thanksgiving and before we know it it will be Christmas.

I haven't decided if I am going to decorate for Christmas this year. I think it will depend on my hand. I love Christmas decor, but as I spend Christmas in Atlanta I'm not sure what I will do.

Well, I think my hand has had enough. I'm going to spend some time reading a new book I just picked up at the library. I love Barbara Kingsolver books. She is a great Kentucky writer.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

  1. Sorry You are having such a hard time Laura. I would help , but I know very little about programing. I jump thru hoops to make my blog...it's always something. Windows ten is always trying to change something to make me nuts. :) Blessings to you , stay warm. xoxo, Susie

  4. HI Laura, Sorry about your computer. You are smart to copy your blog as you type.. I used to do that when my computer was doing the same thing! I would type a paragraph, and then copy and paste it to my Word program just in case! The word that pops up and types in a previous paragraph could be because you're wearing your brace and your little finger is accidentally hitting the "up" cursor key and makes it jump back up and continue typing there. That used to happen to me when I wore my brace and was typing on a smaller keyboard.. my little finger ALWAYS hit that cursor key and it would pop up to the top and type my words up there. I continually had to go up and delete those words and go back to where I was typing. My "up" cursor key on my laptop keyboard is right below the "shift" key, so every time I would shift to type a capital letter, up it would go to the previous paragraph! I've since bought a separate keyboard where the cursor keys are further away. So maybe that's the problem. Don't know for sure. Just a thought. Hope you are wearing that/those braces at night too.. that is the time when things can heal. Yes.. time is going way too fast and I plan on not doing much decorating for Christmas this year. As I get older, I just don't seem to care that much about doing it, especially when no one is coming to our house. Have a nice Sunday and that book looks good! Marilyn

  6. Oh Laura. I am so sorry about the computer glitches. Have no idea what is causing that. Hope it straightens itself out. I am definitely going to decorate for Christmas, despite some family challenges. It brings me great joy to be surrounded with beauty. Take care, my friend. Susan
