The blossoms on the trees. Freshly cut grass. Dinner wafting through an open window.
Sometimes I just stop and breathe it all in. I want God and the universe to know how grateful I am for all of the beauty that is erupting around me.
I search for tadpoles in the stream and admire the rich verdant landscape that the recent rains have provided.
There is something so therapeutic about taking a walk on a beautiful day, and the best part about it is it is free. I don't need a gym membership to get my exercise and I don't need to go to a movie theater to get my entertainment. All I have to do is step outside my door and head down the sidewalk.
The spring air is definitely redolent and I am surrounded by simplicity and serenity.
Have a wonderful day.
really beautiful. i have the heady scent of bluebonnets as i walk my driveway, here. :)
ReplyDeleteBluebonnets sound wonderful
DeleteNothing like a walk and nothing like spring in the air!
ReplyDeleteThere really isn't, Nancy. I feel like I am coming out of a cave.
DeleteYou have such a beautiful space to walk. Even if I could walk far, I wouldn't want to do it here. Nothing pretty.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I am lucky that living in a city I have such a pretty neighborhood to walk in, Brenda.
DeleteBeautiful spring photos, Laura! I pick the fuzzy dandelions and blow on them, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I am not the only one, Melanie :)
DeleteLooks like you have some nice views while you walk. I just went on a walk with my dog tonight. It has rained so much lately so it felt good to finally get out. You taught me a new word today. Redolent!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great word, Kelly. It has rained a lot here too and so I am taking every chance I get to get out and do some walking.
DeleteDogwoods, tagpoles, dandilion fluff you live in a magical world Laura...spring has definitely arrived where you live. And walking outside is so much healthier and less stressful for your body. Today my air was redolent with the sounds of powerwashers, and lawnmowers...I'm hoping that I am not surrounded by them tomorrow and can just visit my plants and feel the sun on my skin.

I had the lawnmowers too, Jen while I was sitting with my windows open, but I realize they mean warm weather and so I am not being distracted by them. On the other hand the roofers across the street who were constantly yelling at me were kind of destroying the mood :)

Laura, This is a great post. I know that the fragrance of lilacs takes me back in time. Some times when I smell the flowering tree, I too will just stand there and inhale . It's wonderful. We have much to be thankful for, in our lives. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to take a walk!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love springtime with all the beautiful blooms and scents and watching the trees come to life again. You have a nice place for a walk in the city, Laura. That is wonderful!
