One of the first things I want to focus on is the color scheme of the blog. I love blue. It is a color that I have always found to be calming. So I looked up the color that is associated with serenity. Guess what, it is blue. How do you feel about blue?
Then to be fair I thought I should look up the color for simplicity. It was red. That kind of surprised me. I have to admit. I am not much of a red person. In fact, when I looked around my house to find something red to photograph I almost came up empty handed. I thought I was going to have to go out to the cold garage and dig through the Christmas stuff.
That being said, I love to see how other people use red, it is just maybe too visually stimulating for me.
Of course there are lots of other colors to choose from. My goal is for this blog to be a serene place to visit. I hope that everyone will feel welcome and relaxed once they pull up my page. Kind of like visiting with close friends over a cup of tea.
What are your thoughts. Should I continue with the blue color scheme or do you think I should make a change?
red is simplicity? wow. i'd have thought white or something quite bland. :)
ReplyDeleteI know, it shocked me too. :)
DeleteI find blue and soft green to both be equally soothing. Red sets me on edge....lol xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI like green too, Diana although I don't use it much.
DeleteI'm planning and doing a mini facelift in our kitchen and introducing blues added with the stainless and shades of grey. Blue is a delightful embrace of a color for me.

That sounds like it will be beautiful, Vera.
DeleteI love the blue! It is serene and calming...perfect for your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. I think I will stick with the blue.
DeleteI like blue even tho I have never used much blue. I do have accents in my LR of the soft, Aqua blue with all of my tans and beiges. I love blue dishes. I think you should use whatever fits you best and you are the most comfortable with.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Thanks. I do feel comfortable with the blue.
DeleteI love the blue too and use a lot in my decor. My very favorite color is slate blue. I think of red as being exciting. The apple looks good...did you get one for me too! Thanks for being such a sweet friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThat Apple isn't real so it might not taste too good. Hope you are feeling better. :)
DeleteI love blue as well. my house is decorated in blue. I love sky blue and soft yellow together. That is my colors for my bedroom, so relaxing. Red for simplicity! That was a surprise. When I think of simplicity I think of white, I know white isn't a color, and one other color for accent. Debbie
ReplyDeleteMy daughter used to have the prettiest blue and yellow toile shower curtain. Such a pretty combination, Debbie.
DeleteI always think of red as very invigorating, not soothing! I like the blue theme. Pastel colors always seem soothing to me.
ReplyDeleteI think of red as being invigorating too, Michelle. If I was a bull fighter I would have to go out there and soothe the bull with blue. :)
DeleteI painted my kitchen a light blue/green shade and everybody keeps telling me how serene the room is, so I guess you're right about blue!
ReplyDeleteWhen I see photos of your kitchen, Magali it always seems serene to me.
DeletePale blue skies...still water blue...yes it's a serene color :) Stick with what you like :)
