While I am thankful for those things, I want to have a conversation today about gratitude in the everyday lives of women. Because I don't know about you, but I begin each day by saying thank you. I am filled with gratitude for so many things, and those are the things I choose to focus on.
We are bombarded with so much negativity. It comes to us from everywhere. The TV, the newspapers, the internet, and even from people on the street. It seems like everyone wants to talk about negatives. I want to talk about and think about positives. I believe that what you focus on is what the universe sends back to you.
I will start the conversation with some of the things I am grateful for. I am grateful for my family. For waking up each morning to a new day. For the ability to talk, walk, hear, and see. For friends, like you. For simple pleasures. For my favorite chair. For a comfortable safe place to live. For an unlimited supply of free books to read. For my small business. For freedom.
There are so many more things that I am grateful for, but I want to hear from you. I normally don't dictate what can be said, but today I am asking that you not say anything negative. I want to focus on the positives, and no matter what your situation I bet you can come up with something that you are grateful for.
So please join in with us today. Pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and let's chat.
Oh Laura there is so much to be grateful for in our worlds. The world is a scary place if we just focus on the negative. I love your attitude. I am grateful for the same things you are. Hug B
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful things to be grateful for, :)
DeleteWith the dawn of internet access there was a saying, garbage in ~ garbage out (GIGO). By only choosing positive thoughts in early morning we set an easy pace for the rest of the day. If I had to choose just one thing to be grateful for this hectic week it would be for wit and humor. Man plans and God laughs. Be well, Laura. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI love that saying, Man plans and God laughs. With and humor. A wonderful thing to be grateful for. We certainly need them.
DeleteI am grateful for many of the same things you are, Laura. Today I am thankful for a warm little house.
ReplyDeleteA warm house is a wonderful thing to have at this time of year.
Deletewhen i get down, i try to say my gratitudes, too. little things. everyday things that fill my world. it is important.
ReplyDeleteI think that we often forget all of the little things that we have to be grateful for, but in the end I believe they are the things we will find are most important.
DeleteI am grateful for my little dog, Tebow who has brought me great comfort and companionship. And for my little home. Debbie
ReplyDeleteDogs are just the best. They do give us so much companionship. I sure do miss mine.
DeleteI am thankful for the pupsters, who are my family. I am thankful for a roof over my head, and a nice big patio so the pupsters can get out and run around. I am thankful that I have this space on the internet to connect to friends found through blogging.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
And what wonderful family they are, Brenda. I am so glad that you have them and that you have your nice big patio to let them out on. Isn't it wonderful how many great friends we make on the internet. I am happy that you are one of mine. :)
DeleteI have the same kind of ritual as you, except at night. When I go to bed, before I fall asleep, I count my blessings and the good moments of the day... There are a lot if you take the time to think about it. A colleague of mine is always complaining about everything, I try to get her to see the bright side of things, but she can't, so she's always angry... I think it's such a pity for her.
ReplyDeleteI always feel sad when I see people that are so unhappy, Magali. Going back over the blessings of your day right before you go to sleep is a good was to promote sweet dreams.
DeleteI am thankful for my home, friends and family. My furry child Charlie brings me so much love. I'm grateful that I am able to live near family now and share such joy in my life. It's the simple things that matter to me.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda

DeleteA missionary friend of mine once said, 'Life is what you make of it.' I have thought of that so many times. We can dwell on the negative, or we can choose to see the positive that is visible everywhere around us, if we will but look up and pay attention. I thank God for many of the same things you are thankful for too, Laura - my home, my comfortable living room, my kitchen, my family, my friends, my dogs and cat, etc. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Laura.
ReplyDeleteJudy, Your missionary friend was so right. Your life is definitely what you make of it. Thanks for sharing what your are grateful for. Happy Thanksgiving. :)
