What will really happen if you aren't able to read every blog on your list today. Will they stop being your friend? If they are your friend, then no, because they know that like them you have times when even if you are thinking of them you might not be able to talk that day. You might be overwhelmed with other things.
What does worry and stress get us? It gets us more worry and stress, and I know that I personally don't need more worry or stress. So I let go. I forget about catching up. I live in this moment and breathe in its freshness, its newness. It feels like a warm breeze on a sunny spring day.
Maybe today is the day that you can start to forget about catching up. Just let some of those things go. Enjoy this moment. It is simple and serene living at its best.
That is such a good reminder, especially at this time of year when we feel compelled to get so much done every day. I am a little OCD about getting things done off my "to do" list. Sometimes, it is a good idea to not stress over it so much. I sometimes have to remind myself that tomorrow is another day.
ReplyDeleteI always tell myself now that the "list police" aren't going to knock on my door to arrest me if I don't get it all done. I had a lot to do today, but I went to an auction and found some great things for my shop. Make sure you take time to just enjoy, Kelly.
DeleteIt's so important to know what you can do and what you can't do especially as the holidays approach. I'm getting better at letting things go! Good post sweet Laura!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Thank you, Linda. I think we really do get wiser as we get older, and we know that there are sometimes a lot more important things than what are on our list. :)
DeleteIt all gets accomplished - or not. Only you usually know what didn't get done and it really is not worth being stressed about. I don't make long lists anymore - short ones that I know I can finish.
ReplyDeleteShort lists are definitely the best, Vicki and I just tore my list for the day up and went to an auction. :)
DeleteI love your picture of the old book and keys.
ReplyDeleteI have way too much stress in my life - I definitely need to work on letting it go.
Thanks, Kim. Letting go feels so good.
Deletesuch good advice and such beautiful images,
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laurie.
DeleteThere are times when it's the best thing to do...now stop, take a deep breath, and live in this moment....
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Laura.
Jen
I really did today, Jen. I got rid of my list, went to an auction, and had a great time. :)
DeleteI really like this post. It's so true. I have become a twice a month blogger...not by choice, but by need. Most evenings I am way to tired from the day, so when the children go to bed, I pretty much crash as well.
ReplyDeleteWe are the lucky ones, Laura. Secure in a friendship that allows each to set their own pace knowing there is unconditional support during these busy days. Happy TGIF!
