My daughters kept telling me how good the cameras were on their iPhones, and I was feeling pretty jealous. I had a Windows phone that was supposed to have a great camera, but I was not happy with it. Then a great thing happened, my Windows phone bit the dust.
It happened when the carrier that my daughters were on was having a special to promote the new iPhone 6. So I took my meager savings, switched carriers, and got the new iPhone. I am so happy that I did, because for the first time I am really loving taking photos.
I can actually take photos in all kinds of light, which is really helpful for my vintage business. I don't have to wait for the perfect sunny day to get photos of the items I am listing in my Etsy shop, and it is fun to get out and take outside shots. Of course, there is also the added advantage that I always have my phone with me so I don't have to worry about forgetting my camera.
I still have a lot to learn about my camera, but I am enjoying the process, and when I go to Atlanta at Christmas I can enlist my daughters to help me with the finer points. I am definitely going to want some closeups of those sweet grandchildren faces.
Disclosure: This was not a sponsored post. All opinions on the iPhone were strictly my own.
I never think to use my iPhone for pictures. Guess I am more vintage than I realized. LOL I also do not know how to transfer them to my computer. I guess you figured out I am not to techy. Debbie
ReplyDeleteIt is really easy to transfer them to your computer. I just plug it in and they are transferred via icloud or dropbox, which you can download for free :)
DeletePhone cameras have come a long way! These are some great photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks. IT is really amazing what great photos they take now.
DeleteNice photos, Laura! It's amazing how the new phones have such good cameras. I've also noticed how they work very well in even lower lighting, such a bonus! So happy for you to have your new phone!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I am really enjoying taking photos again.
DeleteYou took wonderful photos! We still have old phones but are looking at the new ones. I would be great to have it handy all the time for photos, too! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI was so upset when my phone died, but it turned out to be a real blessing.
DeleteYour photos are beautiful. I don't have an iPhone, I have a Samsung S5, but the Picasa app makes it so much easier to take, edit, and store photos. It's all backed up to my Google account. Aren't we lucky nowadays to have so many cool options? I love it!
ReplyDeleteNow if I just had your eye for photos...
We are lucky to have so many wonderful options these days, and thanks for your sweet words.
DeleteGood for you Laura. It's about time you got a break. Don't you think? I just found out my phone takes movie clips and photos..who knew it's an old style. I just took a photo last week and sent to my daughter. LOL. There may be help for me yet. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThat's what our kids and grandkids are for, Susie. They help us figure all of this out. :)
DeleteGood for you! A friend of mine has the iPhone 6 and the camera is amazing. I'm still on the 5S but am happy with that camera. You did a beautiful job with all the photos in your post. In no time at all, you'll be zipping through apps, that's when the fun really begins!
ReplyDeleteMy daughters have the 5s I think and their cameras take wonderful pictures. I', ready to start zipping (I think )
DeleteI have never used a phone camera, but I hear they're very good these days.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I love this one and I am loving Instagram now :)
DeleteHow great that you got a new phone with a good camera. You'll love how handy it is for taking photos. I'm visiting from Muddy Boot Dreams today.
ReplyDeleteHi Lorrie. Thanks so much for visiting. It is so nice to meet you :)
DeleteWow they are great photos I do not own an Iphone maybe someday. Hug B
ReplyDeleteThanks, Buttons. I hope your someday comes soon :)
DeleteIt's so nice to meet you; so glad you came over….Your shots with your phone are really good. I love all the apps that are available now but I am still learning to use them….So much fun trying new things….
ReplyDeleteIt really is fun, Nancy. The one thing I didn't like about the Windows phone was that there weren't very many apps. So glad you stopped by :)
DeleteThat's great news, Laura. Love your photos from today! Nice job! Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan :)
DeleteThese are lovely photos! I like them all but that second one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteMy iphone is still a 3, lol...but I find that it works great for quick food shots and closeups and candid shots yes!:)
I think all of the iphones have good cameras. I guess they just keep improving on them.
DeleteYour shots are beautiful Laura, what a joy to have a camera that can capture what you see. It's freeing to have one in your pocket. There are so many great tutorials on Iphoneography, and Susan Tuttle is on Instagram you will love her.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it.
Jen
Thanks, Jen. I really am enjoying it. It was always so hard for me to get decent shots, but now it requires much less effort and so much less frustrating.
DeleteCongratulations, Laura. Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn!!
DeleteGreat Shots! Following you on Instagram. Looking forward to seeing what you're up to. I'm new to the phone photo phenomenon. My daughter just introduced me to an app that helps make any shot great! Aviary. And the best part - It's free!
ReplyDeleteI have been playing around with Aviary too. It's a great app. I will look for you on Instagram. Thanks for the follow.
