When you see the face of an aging person you see the history in that face. The lines and wrinkles tell their story. You know there has been sorrow in those long years, and still there are smiles.
Can there be anything more beautiful than that?
Keep sharing those beautiful smiles.
I agree Laura and I have encountered an elderly gentleman twice here in Tn at WalMart that never fails to make everyone who encounters him smile. He has a beautiful smile and walks thru the store singing old gospel songs which brings joy to everyone who hears him. This week I heard Rock of Ages and I'll Fly Away before I was done with my shopping and left the store with a huge smile and a song in my heart for the rest of the day.

ReplyDeleteMy paternal grandmother had the best smile and laugh. Her life had not been easy, but she was the most optimistic person I have ever known. :)
DeleteA simple smile at a stranger is a kind gesture and it often makes their day.

That is so true, Brenda. We never know what someone else is going through.
DeleteMy mama always said if you don't have the best of clothes, always have an iron and a smile.
ReplyDeleteYour mama was a wise woman. I have to admit though, I do try to skip the iron now :)
