but it is actually visions of sorting and working.
EEEEK!!!
When the weather allows it I am going to thrift stores and auctions so that I can increase my inventory. My business has really dropped off the last couple of years. I can partially blame the economy, but with all of the things going on in my personal life and two major surgeries, I let things slide.
I've had to give myself a big pep talk. I need to support myself and other than my small social security this is how I do it.
So, there are stacks of old maps and prints,
antique apothecary bottles,
pretty pieces of china,
and old suitcases.
That means sorting, cleaning, sourcing and photographing. Saturday I took over 100 photos. As the sun hasn't been out most days I have to take as many as I can when it is.
I feel very lucky that I am able to sit at home in my jammies, if I want, while I work, and that I am doing something I really love. I have set myself a schedule and I am trying to stick to it as much as possible. That's kind of hard for a somewhat free spirit like me.
So, do your worst Old Man Winter. Neither snow, ice, or howling winds can stop me.
i hope your business picks up soon (and the weather improves, too!)
ReplyDeleteI love your positive outlook! You got me smiling this morning.
ReplyDeleteI love when the motivation kicks in and you can really get things done! You're going to really be ready for Spring with new things in your shop. That seems to be when everyone wants new things to change their decor! Enjoy your day my friend! I need to go peek in your shop! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI do best with my work if I can get a routine going... heaven help me if that gets off kilter! You're doing great. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteLove your attitude, just get her done! Sometimes I have to just get with it too!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you feeling more positive about your business. It is hard in this economy, but I do believe there are still buyers out there for your fabulous finds! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteUnderstand. I have been without a job for a few months. Can't paint and redo in the muck and cool weather.
ReplyDeleteStay motivated with that positive attitude!
ReplyDelete100 photos. Yikes!! That's a lot. We've had a shortage of sunny days here, too -- and schools are closed tomorrow due to a BIG snowstorm. Wish I could be snowed in to sew, but, alas -- two jobs to get to, so I'll be up at 5:00 am to try to shovel myself out.
ReplyDeleteNice assortment of vintage items! We are collectors of bottles too.. My husband likes the ones with Owls on them..
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that you get to work from home for sure! That's a perk that many people wish they had. Glad to hear that your Etsy shop is helping you out.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. These are lovely and you arrange them so attractively. Enjoy the jammies time. :-)
