Some flowers have a hardscrabble life. They break free from soils that are rocky and strewn with trash, environments that are less than supportive, and yet they grow and blossom despite the odds.
Other flowers are just emerging. They are growing and planning how to share their gifts with us.
And then there are those flowers that have been nurtured with rich soil. They have been watered and given light and we enjoy the beauty they have been blessed with.
Every flower is beautiful. They all give us pleasure. Just like people.
I'm always amazed at what can thrive in harsh conditions. Sometimes we have hollyhocks in Albuquerque that grow right through the cracks of the sidewalks in town!
I love gerberas! ( I also love people :)

I love the lilies. So pretty. I can't seem to find ones hardy enough for my area, though, or else something is eating them. :-(
