How awesome is that photo.
Is there anything more wonderful than the sheer innocent joy of a child?
Each day when I wake up I say thank you that I am here, and then I say I choose to be happy today. No matter what happens in my day I will choose to look at it as a lesson in my life.
Yes, there are aches and pains. Yes, there are financial problems. Yes, there are people in my life who cause me hurt, but I choose to be happy.
I can remember the joy I felt being on roller skates for the first time.
Can you?
I LOVE this picture and yes, I do remember my first roller skates! They were the old metal ones that adjusted to the length of your foot and had the big metal key to tighten them across your upper foot/toe area. They had leather straps for your ankles and metal wheels. I skated on them so much that I wore holes in the wheels! I loved those skates! Happy is a great way to be! If you have happiness in your heart, nothing can take you down! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteI love that photo too - thanks for the smile, what a great way to start the day!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth was open like that screaming in terror! Never mastered roller skates!
ReplyDeleteThat is am awesome photo. Not sure which is better - the facial expression or those dimply knees :)
ReplyDeleteOne of the few things we have control over... our own attitudes!! I'm choosing to be happy, too. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, look at her thighs! Made me smile. My first time on skate? More time spent on my behind than upright.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to view your days. We all need to choose to be happy, as we must press on with the days ahead!
ReplyDeleteThose chubby knees are just too charming!!!!I never conquered skates even though I tried. Every year brings new challenges and how we face them is most important.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday

Wise words. I can't remember being on roller skates for the first time, unfortunately, but I can remember riding without training wheels - exhilarating!

What an adorable photo. I admire your positive outlook, and need to follow your good example.
ReplyDeleteI'm too uncoordinated to roller skate -- but I do remember learning to ride my bike. That was liberating!
That is one of the most awesome pictures ever! I definitely have to make a conscious effort daily to be happy, be respectful and take the higher road that HE expects from us.
ReplyDeleteJust have to say again I LOVE THAT LITTLE GAL'S PICTURE-it will make me smile so very many times.
Thanks.
Oh- Yeah! I choose happy, too. Those look like REAL roller skates on that little girl- My own were clip ons that you tightened with a key...remember those? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHow cute are those chubby knees and the roller skates. I don't remember my first roller skates but I do remember the joy of my first bike.
ReplyDeleteI have all the same problems that you do Laura, but I am trying to be happy each day too.

I love that photo! Yes, we must choose happy. Unless we have a 'I choose Pissed' day! LOL
ReplyDeleteI do remember my roller skates...I loved flying around the rink. My favorite song to skate to was "Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain and Tennille.
Love your new look on the blog!
xo, T.
I never learned to skate well but I remember riding bikes all day and never getting tired. I love life and choose to be happy. I know you have some challenges ahead of you! But you're strong and you'll do great! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dear photo. I remember skating as a young girl. We had a paved parking lot behind our house that belonged to a local, family grocery store. We skated until we couldn't go any more. Lots of scraped knees.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nostalgia.
Judy
Adorable photo! You have such a positive attitude, and I think that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love that photo...I've never rollerskated nor ridden a bicycle but I sure can imagine how free it must feel. Thanks for sharing. I have people in my life that cause and drag me into drama...and I will choose happy !!
