FEELING SERENE

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

I'm working hard on renewing my serenity. As my father used to say, life is tedious sometimes, and if we aren't aware, we can let the tediousness of life take over.

This morning, as I sipped my cup of tea, I took time to look out my window and see the beautiful pink and yellow sky that heralded a wonderful day ahead.

I knew I had another very busy day ahead, yesterday I painted in my new booth all day and today I am moving, but I also knew I needed to feed my soul before the day really got started.

Life passes by so quickly and before we know it we have wasted so many precious moments. Moments that should be filled with love and peace.

So instead of rushing around, I am consciously taking time to feel serene, to savor the moment, and to love the life I have.

    1. Rereading what I wrote I can see how that could be confusing. In my defense, I was really tired when I wrote this and also Blogger erased half of my post. :)

  2. Great post! Mine is somewhat along these same lines today. We have to fine peace and serenity wherever we are and embrace life. For now is all any of us are awarded.

    1. I haven't had a chance to read any blogs yet today, Brenda. We do need to be mindful of our serenity. It affects both our mental and physical well being.

  4. That is so true, Laura. Sometimes it is hard to just take that moment to savor a quiet bit of time. It seems even at this age there is a constant rush on to 'get'er done'. That is something I was not prepared for. I thought this time of life would be a lot more laid back and quiet. The joke is on me! lol xo Diana

Love them. And the red glasses with crystal bottoms?? Love them too. I say YES to you opening shop on your blog. I'll definitely be a shopper!

  7. Laura, I saw your beautiful sunrise picture, and had to come right over, as I love the sunrises. This one is so pretty with the pinks and soft yellows. How nice that you are wanting to live simply and savor each moment.

    Wishing you peaceful November days.

  11. I'm glad you are finding some serenity amidst your painting and moving your booth, etc. It seems like since I've been "retired"... life has been even more busy and sometimes stressful, which I do NOT like. Working at a job was stressful.. I thought being retired would be peaceful and calm. Some days it is, and I try to cherish those days!

  14. This post speaks to where I am in life right now as well. I think there is a collective conciousness of unease right now - with the election and so much going on in the world. Taking the time to see beyond all of that and remember to savor the moments is so important.
