WHERE ART THOU AUTUMN?

I look at the calendar and it says that Fall arrived yesterday, and yes I see subtle changes.

The light in my apartment has shifted, casting shadows that weren't there a few short weeks ago.

The market is changing with the shift in seasons.

Fresh picked apples,

autumn apples

pumpkins,

pumpkins

and gourds have replaced the fresh blueberries, peaches, and corn on the cob that were there last month.

Yes, the calendar and the markets say it is Autumn, but then I look at the weather on my phone and see this.

Ninety degrees today and tomorrow.

But wait I think I see hope for fall in the near future. Hurry up Autumn. Summer is clinging with all of its might, but I know you can do it.

Days in the seventies sounds perfect. I can't wait.

Has Autumn really arrived where you are, or are you like me still waiting?

  2. Same here. At least it isn't 100, which is what it was every day last week. I love little glimpses into your apartment. I think I was almost as anxious as you were to get it, so I love to see your little abode!

  7. Weather in my neck of the woods it's like Fall, around 50. I love Autumn and your décor wire basket, along with your images of pumpkins and red apples.
I just realized you live in an apartment and so do I. I always thought ALL my bloggy friends were 'house owners' people and just me had an apartment. Yes, when we downsized we moved here from a huge farm house; but I so love our pent house apartment dearly now.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  8. Like you, I am still waiting and we won't see cooler temps until the end of October, at least that is what is predicted. Time will tell.

Have a nice weekend ~ FlowerLady

  9. laura, I prefer 70 degree days also. It's been a tough summer because of the temperatures....not enough nice cool days to even sit on the porch. Hope you get relief soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. We have terrible flooding here in western Wisconsin. We could use some of your warm weather & sunshine to dry things out. I love getting little peeks in your apartment. I am so happy for you to have a place of your own!!

  12. Here in central Oregon it's still "summer" during the days, but the nights are getting colder... has hit freezing a couple of times, but usually around 36. Love the cold nights and warmer days.... and this coming week it'll be up in the 80's again! I'm anxiously awaiting for the leaves to start turning golden, but not many have yet. I guess we should enjoy this extended summer as I'm not really looking forward to a winter of snow and temps below zero! Have a nice weekend.... Marilyn

  13. Yes, autumn has arrived here Laura, with cooler temperatures and a northwest wind this weekend. It was only about 58 here today and I would love to be where you live with those nice hot temperatures. lol I love the sun and heat. I'm sure it will cool down there soon and I'm also sure we'll have another day or two of temperatures in the 70's here, which I'll relish. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Pam

  14. I'm right there with you! Waiting on Fall to arrive. It's still very hot and humid here in GA. I am hopeful that it will cool down later this week as the weather people have predicted. But, they have been wrong before. I wonder if this is any indication about how our winter will be. Mild perhaps?
