LIFE IS ALWAYS CHANGING

Friday, May 13, 2016

Life is always changing. It's amazing to me that no matter how old we get there is always room for change.

I have been pretty darned tired the last couple of weeks. Moving is hard, and even though I have moved so often in my adult life, I seem to forget just how hard it really is.

Add to that the fact that I am getting a wee bit older and I have been having dental work done in the midst of it. It makes a girl just want to nap.

I ran across this new friend on one of my walks this week. I was amazed how unafraid it was. Maybe it has something to do with how serene and calm this place that I am now living is.

I have actually been having pretty much of a blast in my new home. I love my new neighbors. There are 42 apartments where I live and although it is quiet in my apartment, I can find someone to talk to most anytime of the day if I start to feel at all lonely.

It seems I now have to have a root canal. It will be my first. OUCH!!

After that I plan to head on out and get my things from North Carolina.

I may be driving a U Haul (won't be my first time) so if you see me just honk and move on over.

  2. Oh, I'm so glad you like it there! Sounds perfect and small, which is how I like it. One hundred units here. I hope things go well at the dentist. I've had root canals. I didn't think they were that big of a deal.

  4. So glad you are setteling in!! I hate dental work but I have to have two crowns after I finish moving my mom. It's hard but worth it to get a great place to live. Shout out if you get near Athens, GA!!

  5. So glad you are happy in your new home! This recent move of mine is the first time I've ever moved myself. I had a lot of help. The only two moves I've ever made was 50+ years ago and John's company came in and did everything. After 48 years in one place, I sure have accumulated a lot of stuff I am finding out! LOL

  8. Hi Laura,
I am so happy you are enjoying your new place. Glad you are meeting new neighbors and enjoying the peacefulness of your place. Moving is so hard. Believe me I am in the middle of what you are doing but it is so worth it in the end. Enjoy your new furry neighbors too lol!
    Hugs,

  9. Moving is exhausting no matter what your age. We hired movers after 32 years in our last home and it was still a marathon.
It is all worth it though when we end up in a great place.

  10. I have been catching up on your posts. That was a long wait for you for the apartment. We had a long wait for selling our home. Congrats on being moved in. I hope your storage items will go okay. If you feel like me and can breathe a sigh of relief that you are just where you want to be. No more moving. It is exhausting to move. You do have to stop and rest. Your mom sounds like mine. You have a beautiful little sofa to nap on. Wishing you many happy times in your new home.

  11. Moving is hard. I've done it more times than I can remember quickly but the last one was the hardest. I think it had something to do with the downsizing that accompanied it.
Good luck with the root canal. I have found that they aren't as bad as everyone makes out.

  12. Take your time if you can. The root canal might take some time to recover as far as bending over that moving takes. But if you are in a time crunch, you'll just do what you have to do. That's the way to swing.

  13. Make sure you have a specialist do the root canal.. one who does them all the time and strictly does them.. then it's a snap! Really no pain at all, it just takes longer and you're in the chair longer, but really, no pain and if a specialist does it (I think they are an endodontist) it's a breeze. I usually have nitrous oxide when I have a root canal and it makes the time zoom by! And so happy you are enjoying your new place and the quietness of it.
