A HEAVY HEART

Several years ago I was introduced to the books of Dr. Wayne Dyer, and his words have brought me comfort and a new way of looking at life since that time.

Yesterday, Dr. Dyer left this world after a long battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He was teaching and sharing right up until the end, and those teachings will go on through his books and audio recordings. He had a profound effect on so many people all over the world.

Today I thought I would share just a few of my favorite Wayne Dyer quotes.

"When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way."

"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

"Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life."

"What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives, we need to stretch our minds."

"You are important enough to ask and you are blessed enough to receive back."

"There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love; there's only scarcity of resolve to make it happen."

And this quote is one that has been particularly important to me and that I try daily to remember.

"Self-worth comes from one thing - thinking that you are worthy."

I know I will miss Dr. Dyer, and I had always hoped to be able to go see him speak at some point. That will not happen in this lifetime, but I know he is now happily dancing with the angels.

  11. I too was greatly saddened by Dr Dyer's passing. He was to do a seminar with Deepak next year and I had hoped one day to hear both...now it will just be his words that will comfort all of us...he was one of those amazing people whose loss is felt deeply. Thank you for sharing his amazing words here today!

  13. I was so shocked to hear of his death too! I had no idea that he was sick. I found out about it on Facebook. I always thought he was a brilliant man and he shared such important insights to things. He was comforting to listen to with his soft voice and left you feeling like you could handle anything. He will definitely be missed!

    1. I really thought he had his cancer under control, and I am not sure if that is what killed him. They haven't said, Kelly. Whatever it was it took him too soon.
