When I find a feather a I think there is an angel who dropped it at my feet. Letting me know I am never alone.
I also love heart stones. I used to find them along the shore when I lived in North Carolina. On days when I was feeling a bit down I would take a walk on the beach and I seemed to always find one. I have lost most of them, but I still have these two.
I also love to collect. Vintage quilts and baskets are two of my favorite things.
Then of course there is the old ironstone. I can never have enough. Each piece that I add to my collection sings to me.
Those are some of the things I am gathering and collecting. How about you? What are some of your favorites?

i pick up feathers and pretty stones, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it when I find them, and then reexamining them as I pull them out of my pockets when I get home.
DeleteI love to collect hand painted pottery. It makes my heart sing! Enjoy the rest of the week Laura!!
ReplyDeleteI love handpainted pottery too, Katie. Especially if it is from the 1960's or 70's. :)
DeleteLaura, I picked up feathers at times. I have never found a heart shaped stone. I too love baskets, lots. Hope you are doing well and not having nasty weather. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWe have been pretty fortunate with our winter so far, Susie. Hope yours isn't too bad.
DeleteI often pick up rocks that are unusual and seashells if I'm at a beach. I have quite a collection of both. I'm sure my kids will 'wonder' when I'm gone. LOL I buy ironstone if it's cheap enough and I love china dishes but have too much so I'm careful about those things. I like little china creamers with flowers on them. And lots of vintage linens that were my mothers parents. It's fun to display them when I can too. I love your white basket. Have a nice evening, Laura.
ReplyDeleteSounds like we love a lot of the same things, Pam. I have started to collect some blue and white creamers. Our kids should have a lot of fun sorting through our treasures when we are gone. LOL
DeleteI collect silhouettes and very small pictures/paintings.
ReplyDeleteThose sound wonderful, Michelle.

ReplyDeleteheart not hear .......geeze.......spell check......
DeleteI love that story, Lorraine. That half a heart rock sounds like it is the most special one.
DeleteA woman after my own heart...no pun intended. I love feathers, nests, and heart rocks...just adore them.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of feather is that striped one?
Jen
I'm not sure what type of feather it is, Jen. Guess I am too lazy to look them up. Nests are definitely a favorite of mine too, although I haven't found any lately. :)
DeleteI collect so many things and love quilts both old and new. I've only found one heart stone on the beach in all of my walks. They really are special! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI used to find the heart stones on my North Carolina beach walks. Those and sharks teeth, which I also collect were very abundant there..
DeleteHello Laura....Your collections are lovely. Isn't it so much fun? I have way too many collections but among my faves are cranberry glass, dollhouse miniatures and books. Susan
ReplyDeleteMy collection is cloches. I just fell for them. Hence my blog. My new passion is transfer ware. I want to collect more pieces this year
ReplyDeleteCindy
