WHAT TO DO

The sun is streaming through the windows. Teasing me. Making me want to paint my toenails, pull out my flip flops, and breathe in fresh warm air. Ahhh, it must be spring.

That is when the fantasy comes to a screeching halt. Yes, the sun is streaming through the windows from a clear blue sky, but the outside temperature is hovering at a cold twenty one degrees. Flip flops and painted toenails will have to wait for another day.

The streaming sun also has a downside. It stirs up the dust motes and sends them dancing around the room. They seemed to have multiplied while I was away. I feel as if I will never catch them all. Should I try, or should I lie back down on my cozy bed with a cup of tea and a good book?

That is when I look around and see all of my finds from this week (yes that is my Christmas tree. I decided to leave it up for awhile). So many things to inventory, photograph and price before either adding them to my Etsy shop or taking them to my booth at the first of the week. They are currently taking up space that I need to actually move around in. So they need to be put away.

The tea and the book will have to be put aside for awhile, but that won't stop me from enjoying all that wonderful sunshine. I think my lemon tree, which had not been doing well the last couple of months is enjoying it too. I see that it is putting out a couple of new blossoms.

How is your Saturday going?

  1. we climbed from mid-20s to above freezing, just in time for the rains to begin. might get some wintry mix in these parts, so a good day to hunker down here, too.

  3. No flip flops here either, it's been below zero but I did have them on in early December when it was almost 60. Love your beautiful photos Laura!

  4. We live in a part of the country where weather is always Spring like, sometimes cold and other very warm, but dry, so it's lovely.
I do miss my NYC white C'mas and Winter wonderland many times though.
    Enjoy the new year.

  5. Love seeing your pretty finds! I still have many of my trees up. Taking them down one by one and room by room. I think I will leave the one on the front porch for awhile. It is silver and white and goes with winter. I will add some red for Valentine and Win! WIN!!!

  6. Laura, I have felt cold, even thought the thermostat reads 72 right now. I am ready for some warm up temps. Today the sun was shining and the wind was not as fierce. So as I went to the mailbox, I raised my face to the sun and it was great...I could feel a bit of warmth. I like your trees, the lemon and the Christmas . Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  7. Hi Laura - it is SOOOOO cold here and is going to be for the next week with a chance of snow on Sunday. I am so ready for Spring and warmer weather. I have never been a fan of the cold and the Daylight Savings Time makes it even worse - it gets so dark so early. But, usual Saturday things - Flea Market and spend rest of the day wishing it was warmer. LOL

    Have a great day!

  9. Hi Laura. I wish we had some sunshine in Cornwall. Your room looks so cosy. But I would of just relaxed on the bed and read a book. Because it is Saturday.

  10. Around here I don't mind the dust motes at all if it means some sunshine streaming in the window. It was so bright and sunny today. When I was out running errands I took my sunglasses off so that I could soak the sun beams in more fully. Tomorrow predictions call for freezing rain, sleet, snow, rain. I am needing more than one or two days of sun in a row. Spring seems so far away. Your lemon tree looks so pretty with the little blossoms blooming on it.

  11. Twenty degrees sounds balmy in comparison with our last few days, lol. Hope the worst of it is over now. Love that shot of the sun coming in, the plant in the window, the cozy chair and glass bottles. So cozy and cheerful :)
