LAST MINUTE RUSH AND RATS I HAVE GNATS

I love bananas. I eat them every day, but they brought unwelcome visitors into my home. Gnats!!! Fruit flies!!! UGH!!! The bananas are going to have to take a short vacation, and the gnats are going to have to take a permanent vacation (if you know what I mean).

I was thinking that since it is the holidays I might provide them with tiny party hats and umbrellas for their bon voyage. I do like to keep in the spirit of things.

Speaking of spirit. My Christmas decorating took about thirty seconds. Threw the quilt on the table, plunked down a small tree on the deacons bench, hung the wreath on the door and called it a day.

I did decide yesterday that since I will be leaving on Monday to go to Atlanta that maybe I should try and get something accomplished for Christmas. So the dining room table is being used to wrap some gifts.

I love to use things that I already have on hand, for a simple look. News wrap, snowflake doilies, fabric and jute string for ribbon, and pine cones.

I don't know about you, but my list of things to get done is humongous. I better get busy or I might end up on the naughty list.

  2. I never knew fruit lies were called gnats, now I do!! We only have them in summer never in winter, nasty things drive me crazy! I love your method of using "real " dressings for wrapping, it is the very best way in my opinion.

    1. Maybe gnats is a southern term. Whatever you call them they have to go. I love using real things too. Better for the environment to repurpose.

  6. I know what you mean about getting down to the wire. I still have gift wrapping to do. Plan on it being very cold here in Atlanta next week. The weather forecast is calling for freezing temps. Love that red and white quilt on your table.

  7. I too am leaving for Christmas. But I am heading North (I must be crazy). I have many things to do as well but continue to procrastinate. The one I must get done is buying closed shoes. Being a Florida girl I do not own anything but sandals. Love your simple and natural decorations and wrapping, especially the quilt. Debbie
