getting comfortable with closeups

I have been playing with the camera on my iPhone. I have always lamented the fact that I didn't have a decent camera, and have had one on my wish list since the stone age for a really long time. However, something else would always pop up that would gobble up my meager savings, and so having a good camera seemed like something that would never happen.

My daughters kept telling me how good the cameras were on their iPhones, and I was feeling pretty jealous. I had a Windows phone that was supposed to have a great camera, but I was not happy with it. Then a great thing happened, my Windows phone bit the dust.

It happened when the carrier that my daughters were on was having a special to promote the new iPhone 6. So I took my meager savings, switched carriers, and got the new iPhone. I am so happy that I did, because for the first time I am really loving taking photos.

I can actually take photos in all kinds of light, which is really helpful for my vintage business. I don't have to wait for the perfect sunny day to get photos of the items I am listing in my Etsy shop, and it is fun to get out and take outside shots. Of course, there is also the added advantage that I always have my phone with me so I don't have to worry about forgetting my camera.

I still have a lot to learn about my camera, but I am enjoying the process, and when I go to Atlanta at Christmas I can enlist my daughters to help me with the finer points. I am definitely going to want some closeups of those sweet grandchildren faces.

Disclosure: This was not a sponsored post. All opinions on the iPhone were strictly my own.

  1. I never think to use my iPhone for pictures. Guess I am more vintage than I realized. LOL I also do not know how to transfer them to my computer. I guess you figured out I am not to techy. Debbie

    1. It is really easy to transfer them to your computer. I just plug it in and they are transferred via icloud or dropbox, which you can download for free :)

  5. Your photos are beautiful. I don't have an iPhone, I have a Samsung S5, but the Picasa app makes it so much easier to take, edit, and store photos. It's all backed up to my Google account. Aren't we lucky nowadays to have so many cool options? I love it!

Now if I just had your eye for photos...

  7. Good for you! A friend of mine has the iPhone 6 and the camera is amazing. I'm still on the 5S but am happy with that camera. You did a beautiful job with all the photos in your post. In no time at all, you'll be zipping through apps, that's when the fun really begins!
