do what you love

Transformations

How often do you do the things you love? Do you give yourself the time to do the things that make you happy?

I don't know about you, but I get very wrapped up in day to day living. Doing my daily tasks. Working. Taking care of other people. I often feel tired and irritable at the end of the day because I haven't taken the time to do the things I love. So I have to remind myself...

I think I will get off of this computer for awhile, get a book to read, and head outside for awhile to enjoy this lovely weather. It is definitely something I love to do.

How about you? What is something you love to do that you need to do more often?

  3. A massage and a mani and pedi once in awhile would be nice. It would have to be gifted as I wouldn't spend the money on myself.

    1. That sounds perfect, Debby but I hope you will change your mind and spend that money on yourself. You deserve it :)

  6. I often get caught up in laundry, dishes, cleaning, the boys and forget to take any time to sit down and read a magazine or take some photos. This post is a good reminder to find some time to get out and do what I love every day.

    1. I know how hard it can be with young children, but it is so important to take that time for yourself. You will feel happier for it :)

  8. I've been doing more reading at night. I truly enjoy a good fictional book, and it relaxes me before sleep.

    1. I always read right before I go to sleep. I enjoy fictional books, too, and also love self-help ones. Especially ones about natural healing and healthy eating.

  9. I;ve been thinking about that lately, Laura. How much I give up and give over rather than doing something I truly love. I think I need to rectify that soon- xo Diana

    1. I hope you will, Diana. I know you give so much of your time to others, but you need to work yourself into that equation more :)

  10. From now through the end of tax season my life seems to be all work and no play (with a teeny tiny break at Christmas, thank goodness). I need to get outside before the snow flies and enjoy some walks.

  11. I am one of those blessed retired women who truly loves her home, Laura. My week is scheduled to include plenty of reading time, an in-home spa day and at least one day out for playing lady of leisure. Slow and simple, not everyone's cup of tea, but it serves me well. Enjoy your day.

    1. Being in a place that you love is wonderful, Lynn. Slow and simple sounds perfect to me. I may never be able to retire, but I plan to always try and take time to do the things I enjoy :)

  12. You're right. If we don't refuel ourselves then we run out of fuel to help others. That has always been my motto.

    1. That's a good motto to have, Kelly. I really do find myself running out of fuel a lot of days. I need to practice more of what I preach :)

  13. At the beginning of the year, I always write down goals and it seems like one thing I enjoy doing but don't do very often, is listen to music. So every year, I set a goal to listen to music more often. I am one of those type of people that feel the need to get my work done before I play....so sometimes I miss out on play time! haha! Enjoy your day! (I moved your blog onto my "fun to visit" bloglist. Hugs, Diane

    1. Thanks for putting me on your "fun to visit" bloglist, sweet friend. I love to listen to music, too and I don't do it that often. I need to change that and start listening when I am working and reading. I bet it would really relax me. Thanks for the tip :)

  14. There are so many things I love to do and can't find time to do that sometimes I'm frustrated, but I have to remind myself that I also love doing what I do on an everyday basis.
