transfromations....shine your light

source
I often wonder, as I write my posts, if I am reaching anyone. I mean REALLY reaching anyone.

Then I take a step back and think. If even one of my posts makes a difference in one person's life then it is worth it. If even one of my posts lets someone know that they are not alone in their struggles
then it is worth it. If even one of my posts puts a smile on one person's face, even if only for a moment, then it is worth it.

Because I know that even the smallest things can make a difference in my own life. A smile, a kind word, a simple gesture. These are all things that can brighten my day. So I try to pass these things forward.

I may not be rich with things or money, but I am rich in so many other ways. So I continue to smile and say hello to strangers. I hold the door to let others pass through. I start each day with feelings of gratitude, and I write my blog in hopes that it brightens someone's day somewhere. Because even though I may feel that my light is small I never know just where it may be shining.

So keep your light shining. Each of you has made a difference in my life.

  1. there are some days that is all i have to give - a smile to someone in town, or a goofy blog post. and connecting with either is enough.

  3. This post brings a smile to my face and yes, joy to my heart. This world is so hard and cold and look for posts like this to grab on to just to make it through the day. Thank you so much for sharing. I believe that when we are open enough to share, we ALWAYS make a difference Thank you for making a difference in my day.

  4. Laura, Every light, no matter how big or small, makes a difference in the world. As you said a kind word, a smile, can make someone's day. I try to encourage at all times. But I sure try not to "fluff" an ego. Encouraging and fluffing and too different things. Here's story of one light, not a human light...but you'll get the idea. There's a farm half way down the highway from my home and my work place.( this is when I worked) Whenever the fog was so thick I could barely see my hand in front of my face, I would travel this road....at that farm they had a pole light....I can't even begin to tell you how I would feel once I saw that light...I knew I was half way home and it helped me make it. One light !! xoxo,Susie

  5. This is so true! We just don't know what people are going through or what they need. Most of the time the simplest of gestures mean the most. And I love the pole story from above.

  10. Laura, when a light shines, sometimes it doesn't see it's reflection...it still shines, even though it doesn't know that it's lighting the way for someone.

You do make a difference, remember that.
