oh, is there a world out there?

Are you a reader? If so, you can probably relate to this.

Although I do watch some TV, especially during the cold months, I am a nonstop reader.

I am one of those people who will read anything that is placed in front of them. I love sitting in my chair with a good book, becoming so immersed that I have no idea what is going on around me.

Reading is usually the last thing I do before I fall asleep at night.

I can't tell you how many nights I fight sleep to try and get through one more chapter or even one more page.

Is reading a form of escape? Maybe. In some cases probably, but I can't think of any reason that it is a bad escape unless maybe it is keeping me from taking care of things in the real world. You know things like cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, paying bills.......OOPS!!!

How come none of the people in the books I read have to do all of those pesky things.

Is it possible they aren't real people?

Noooo!!!

Now back to what is important. Which page was I on?

P.S. You may have noticed that I was missing in action for a couple of days. No, I wasn't actually reading all of that time. I have been working on getting my booth started at the Peddlers Mall. Good news is even though it is not set up like I really want it yet, I have started to sell things already, so that is a good thing.

  1. I love reading. I'm like you - I read anything and everything I can get my hands on. I like TV and movies as well but when I was younger I used to think of movies as 'books that moved.' :) I never go anywhere without a book in my purse.

Currently I'm reading through 'The Darcy Books' by Elizabeth Ashton who has been writing a series set in the world of Jane Austen. I resisted at first but I love Jane Austen and EA really does it very well. I've just started 'The Darcy Spirit' the third written but they also work as stand alone stories on their own. If you like Jane Austen, I recommend them.

Looking forward to hearing more about your booth...with pictures, hint hint. :D

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks for the tip on those books, Cassandra. I am putting them on my list. As soon as I feel that my booth is getting to where it is photo worthy I will take some pictures. :)

  2. I go in spurts with reading. I will read several books and then won't read again for several months. I have read some of Victoria Holts and Mary Higgins Clark's books. Happy to hear you are having some sales.

  3. I'm with you! I can get lost in a book and not realize how much time has passed! I have a stack of books on my post right now, too. Oh, how I love any book by J. Evanovich! Love her quirky humor! Enjoy your day! We're going for a hike in a bit and then I'll be ready to rest....and read! Sweet hugs!

  10. Working in two schools, I find I have less time for reading this year; but I'm a big reader come summer holidays! And yes, sometimes, I'm so into a book that I don't understand that people dare talk to me and drag me out of this fantasy world!

  12. Laura... I LOVE to read too. I guess it is a form of escape but it's a lot safer than other things... so glad your booth is a success. I knew it would be. Have a great week.

You and I are two peas in a pod. I love reading and it is the highlight of my evenings...to just escape! And it relaxes me to the point where I fall asleep! I've never been able to read during the day...sort of feel like I'm loafing on the job! Ha!

I love this quote...I Pinned it long ago, and I'd like to make a framed print of it! :)

    XO,

  16. Darn those pesky bills! LOL. I'm not a book reader by nature, but every now and then I will get one and enjoy it very much. I know how nice it is to get engrossed in a good story and escape reality (just like a movie). Reading is a nice thing to do before going to bed. I definitely think it helps most people fall asleep. So glad to hear that your booth is already successful! You must be on the right path then.
