transformation on a thursday....keep standing

How many times have you lost faith in your dreams because someone told you they were impossible?

How many times have you given up on what you wanted because no one else believed in you?

How many times have you felt that what you wanted was right, only to give up because you were afraid?

Well, I'm here to tell you....

I can tell you that I have given up on many of my dreams over my lifetime because no one else believed in me.

I was afraid and more often than not I gave up way too easily and for all the wrong reasons.

The times that I've stood alone and followed what I believed in, the road may not have been easy, my decisions may not have been popular, and I may have been shaking in my proverbial boots, but I haven't regretted following my instincts even if I did fail. Because those were the times that I believed in myself or my cause.

Believe me I have stuck my foot in my mouth more often than I care to think about and I have made a lot of mistakes, but if they were my mistakes, then I learned from them and I have definitely learned to stand taller for what I believe in.

I don't give up easily these days and I hope you won't either. No one knows you better than you do, so don't be afraid to stand up for your dreams.

  2. Good advice, Laura! I always remember that when we are afraid to do something because we may fail, it is like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Not trying is sure failure. Trying at least gives you a 50-50 chance. I think the word 'failure' comes packed with so much negativity, rather than realizing that it gives us the opportunity to learn something new and go forward.

    1. It's because we know ourselves better than anyone else does.

  9. I think I'll sing "I'm still standing" all day now, but it's a great way to think... And I always regret when I do what people think I should do rather than what I believe I should do!

  10. Laura, I like your new header. Glad you are feeling stronger. Some times as we are beaten down, it's hard to rise back up. But we get stronger as we do. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  12. This is so good . . . I was 30 when I married my Steve, and he was the first real person to ever truly believe in me and my dreams. Having him by my side and cheering me on, for the last 37 years, has made so much difference in my life. What happens is after a while of having everyone put you down, you start to believe what they say. Steve's love and encouragement changed how I felt about myself . . . everybody needs a Steve :)

  14. Hello Laura, had a long comment written and then went and dropped my phone on the floor and it all disappeared. A lovely post and one l can truly relate to. I pray to become bolder and wiser and not to let fear stand in the way of my dreams. I pray for wisdom so that l am able to know the difference between fear holding me back or Gods timing. Blessing, Pam xx
