I did go to two estate sales this past weekend and the bidding was frenzied. (Well, I was frenzied. Everyone else seemed to be completely laid back)
This is the house where one of the sales took place. I love this old house. Looks like a four square to me, but we weren't allowed inside so I'm no sure.
The really sad part is that a big Amazon warehouse has been built right next to it, so something tells me this house will be going.
Most of the sale took place under this big tent, which was a good thing, because it was 85 degrees out and very humid and we had to stand the entire time. (good thing I have two new knees)
There was a great collection of old coke memorabilia in the sale, but there also happened to be some collectors there and no matter how much I wanted the rare metal coke carrier my purse didn't stretch far enough, and the evil eye I gave the other bidder didn't work.
I did come home with quite a few great finds.
Here is a little tease of what I found.
The hard part of being a dealer is that I have to sell these treasures. (a girl has to make a living) The good part is that I love finding them and passing them on to other people who love them, and I am a constantly finding new things. (okay, I have saved out a couple of things for myself.)
I have already started to add things to my shop.
In other news of the week. I have been out
I'll be sharing the end result tomorrow. You definitely won't want to miss that, because you never know what is going to happen.
See you then.
Laura,
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun. Some of the Estate sells around here are fun to go to and others not so much because you already know items will be going for way more than their worth/value.
I too, have a hard time parting with antiques that I find with the intention of putting in my little booth space at the antique shop. Most of them end up staying with me...I just can't seem to part with them.
It looks like you found a few gems, wow so much fun making the discoveries..love that house with the porch...I am looking forward to seeing more of your blog...I am a new follower....Phyllis
