how does your garden grow

Mary, Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row

I loved that nursery rhyme when I was a child. It seemed pretty nonsensical to me, which is probably what appealed to me.

Spring always seems to bring a sense of longing to walk through beautiful gardens on a warm day.

Gardens that beckon from the first glimpse.

  1. Unfortunately, we don't have own garden as we're currently staying in a condo but if I had one, I would fill it with lots of sunflowers!

    Lovely pics as always, Laura!

  2. All of these gardens make me envious! So beautiful, especially the first picture :) We have a lot of purple cone flowers, strawberries and lilies in our garden, among many others.

  3. Such beautiful pictures! I wish I had flowers in bloom to pick and bring inside right now. We still have yet to plant flowers in the planters on my front porch. Still haven't bought ferns to put beside my front door yet either. Gosh, I'm feeling really behind right now! LOL!

  4. Lovely photos, Laura. My garden isn't anywhere near as beautiful as these, but I do love it. Right now it's still covered with snow.

  7. How does my garden grow? In spit's and spurts, with dry soil, and then a cold frosty night...

    Mother Nature quite contrary...

  9. Beautiful photos. I ordered seeds on Earth Day, but with temps at 30 degrees, I won't be planting for awhile. My veggie garden struggles (mostly because I hate to weed, but also because my city severely restricts water usage for lawns and gardens). But i have some hardy lilies and lilacs and raspberries that survive in spite of my black thumb.
