a house that you dream of? If you do, is it big or small

is it surrounded by gardens filled with flowers

is it on the water

do you have a house that you dream of?

I do. It is a little cottage with a white picket fence, surrounded by flowers and sitting on a lake. I can picture it in my mind, and I know it is out there waiting for me.

  2. My dream houses are in the Hudson Valley - with barns, ponds or streams, three or four bedrooms, a sunroom, wide floor boards, and the list goes on! I love to chronicle my favorites in Farmhouse Friday:

  6. The house I have wanted for about the past 7-6 years is the house we moved to last year. Power of mental images is valid, in our case anyway. We bought a Mid-Century Modern that we love! I sure hope you are feeling well and can stay on your wellness path. (hug)

  7. I could live in any one of those houses but, of course, the one on the water calls my name- xo Diana

  8. I'm lucky enough to already have my dream house. It's a little house on the lake, it needs work, but it's got a great view and I love it. Hope you get your dream house!

  9. What beautiful pictures! That first one looks like it is taken right out of the story of Snow white :-)! l love my little house and the beautiful place it is in, but l would love to start a little shop and cafe in connection with the farm someday and have more forest. I am very thankful for all l have, but dreams are fun aren't they :-) Pam x

  10. I must be greedy because I have more than one perfect house in my mind. I love the little cottage I live in and to me it is my dream cottage. Yet there are other dreams too. Keep believing in your dream and I know for sure that it will come to fruition for you!

    Big Hugs,

  11. Beautiful photos. My dream house would be a little one-story house near a lake with a big porch and a porch swing. Add a few big old shady trees and a lilac bush and lots of flowers.

  12. I like what Dayle said! And you know I am a dreamer. I live in my dream house and I love everything about it. But I still dream of having a condo facing the ocean...as well! Hope you are feeling better each day! Sweet hugs, Diane

  13. Oh Laura! Thank you for the visit and yes, keep visualizing your dreams. In the 90's I wanted a gray and white awning striped sofa. I placed the picture of it on the fridge for about a year and a half. One day I had all the money and went to the custom furniture place and it was in my home in two weeks, signed, sealed and ...delivered!

  14. Isn't it fun to dream? I've seen several different houses over the years that I would loved to have lived in. I've gone from the 2 story house with a wrap around porch to a cottage with flowers all around complete with picket fence. And every thing in between. I like many different styles, but if I had to narrow all the houses I love down to just one I think it would be the cottage with lots of flowers. And the cottage would be down a lilac-lined lane in the country just outside of a neat little town with lots of flea markets/antique shops!

  16. Oh yes, I do have a dream house in mind. It would be an older farmhouse or southern style cottage with a front porch set back in the woods with a lot of land around it. It would be very private. I would have a screen door somewhere too. Ha! I would like deep baseboards and lots of gorgeous molding and high ceilings and wide plank wood floors. Old-fashioned lighting and white walls. Some rooms would have beadboard or planked wood on the walls. Transom windows would be in the openings to each room. A screened porch on the back and rocking chair porch on the front with ceiling fans. Gas lanterns would flank the front door with wide steps walking up to it. The yard would be manicured just around the front of the house, but natural everywhere else. A fireplace in the kitchen by the table would be icing on the cake. Ah......I just need about a million dollars huh? Thanks for giving me permission to write my dreams down.

  17. I've heard that if you put it out there for the universe...there's a good chance it will come true...

Loving that idea. And after all of my muddy boot dreams...they came true also.

Sometimes not exactly as we think they will, but pretty close.

Here's to your dreams coming true.

  18. I grew up on a lake and ten acres and have missed it dearly! My dream home will be on a lake or pond, cozy and large enough to have family visit, etc.. Big kitchen with a window overlooking the big backyard, pool and water views. :) Has to have a big pool, son is a swimmer. At least five acres with fruit trees and flowers all around. Definitely a small garden. :)
Your dream cottage is out there! I look forward to seeing photos after you get moved in. :)
