resolve

"Don't wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get, you've got to make yourself."
Alice Walker

I looked up the word resolve in the dictionary and the definition that I like best is:

Firmness of purpose!!

source

I haven't made resolutions for this new year, but I do have firmness of purpose.

My blog this year will be about my journey, as a woman, starting over. I want it to not only be about my journey, but as an inspiration and sharing of the journey of all women.

Along with my love for vintage and how I incorporate it into my life, I will also be drawing more from my experience of counseling women along with the things that inspire me.

We all have our ups and downs, our new beginnings both small and large, our hopes and dreams.

We should be able to laugh together and cry together, because as women, supporting each other is what we do best.

We may be at different stages in our lives, but we are held together by the common bond of being women. Our stories may be different, but they are stories of women.

So, I resolve, with firm purpose, to share more of my story and yours. I will showcase blogs, both big and small. I will offer giveaways. I will share vintage inspired decor. And yes, I will laugh and cry with you.

Welcome to 2013.

All photos came from my Pinterest boards. I would love to have you follow me here.

  2. Following your journey will be fun. Blogging friends are special. I'd rather read a blog that is personal than one that isn't. Love the picture of the hands....esp. that little wrinkled and peeling hand of the newborn.

  8. Laura, have you ever watched a compass needle spin, and suddenly point in the right direction? It knows without any uncertainty that it's in the right direction. I think that you have found yours....it's wonderful to watch, and to be part of the journey.

  13. Laura, that’s a good quote. I’ve not made a resolution. I did choose a word for the year ~ moderation. You have already been an inspiration to me. One day you urged me to choose joy during sadness. Thanks to you, today I purchased a vintage piece of furniture that will make my 2013 a breeze. I look forward to your journey. Stunning final picture.
