healing at home

I'm home and

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. My surgery went great and I am doing well.

I came home yesterday and although I don't seem to want to do more than sleep,

I didn't let them over medicate me before or after the surgery this time, so I am more in control of my own healing.

I know there will be lots of pain and physical therapy won't be fun, but I am excited to be moving forward.

#2 daughter came up from Atlanta yesterday and having her here is a big boost to the healing process. She has me laughing a lot.

I will be easing back into blogging as I feel up to it and I can't wait to catch up with everyone. I have 5 kazillion emails in my inbox.

Love you all,
Laura

  2. So glad to hear you're home. I think it's just more comfortable at home. Prayers for healing and speedy therapy results. Big hugs!

24 hours from now my mom will hopefully be out of her surgery. She said sitting at home and just waiting is awful.

Just take it easy my friend and don't worry about emails or visiting for awhile. I'm keeping you in my prayers and sending lots of extra HUGS! Your buddy, Diane

  5. So glad to hear that your surgery went well and that you're home recovering now. Glad to hear that you have someone there to take care of you too! That is so important and will help you heal faster. I hope you will continue to do well. I've never had knee replacement, but my mom had hip replacement years ago and they had her up walking soon after the surgery. I'm sure you will be encouraged to "get-up" and "get-moving" soon too if not already.

  8. Glad to hear you are home and that things went well. I have spine surgery last summer and even with the pain meds I was cussing my surgeon the first week or so. Which was ok, he said I would! ;)

  23. I am happy to read that you are back at home and doing well after your surgery. I am facing knee surgery in the probably not-too-distant future. I am afraid of having it done and reading about your experiences and the way you have dealt with it and how you have healed (from the first surgery) and now this one, gives me both courage and encouragement to go ahead and get it done. It is wonderful that your daughter is able to be there with you.
    Best wishes,
    Susie
