yes I can

and so i am back home again today. nothing much was accomplished in north carolina, but i feel strong. i know that no matter what happens i am moving forward. yes, it may be that i have lost everything i own, but i am alive. i have amazing daughters and wonderful grandchildren. i have faced my fears and i am planning my future.

i can start over and i can share my starting over with you. i will be moving to atlanta next summer and although i may have very little furniture, it is my business to be a thrifter and a decorator, so i will turn it all into an adventure.

we found a retirement complex for my mom in decatur that she really likes, so i will look for a place nearby. i will also be looking for an antique mall to rent a booth, so if any of my atlanta friends know of any i would love to hear about them.

in the meantime, i will be having a second knee replacement next month and my etsy business goes on. lots to do as it is a busy time of the year.

  7. I was reading an article today about people trying to teach their children that people are more important than things. You are an amazing and strong example of this, I admire you for your strength and moving near your family with your mom can only be good. Wishing you the best.

  10. Hi Laura! I must say, you are showing such class and self control over this situation. I think I would have gone nuts on somebody! I am sorry that your trip did not produce results. These people will have to answer for what they've done eventually. Yes, look at your move and rebuilding your decor as an adventure! If you stay positive, things can only get better every day! I think that in the long run the joy will overcome the sorrow. You're one tough, lovely woman, my friend! Hugs, Leena

  11. I am so glad your home and able to look forward to this next year as an adventure. I love the Eleanor Roosevelt message. She was quite a strong woman as are you. God Bless this next year of changes.

  12. I'm so sorry to hear about what you have been going through. I hope things will all work out for you. It is hard to forgive a betrayal like that, but it is better to forgive than to be overcome with hate. I hope I don't sound preachy, but it's something that I've had to deal with this year, too. God bless and speedy recovery on your surgery.

  17. You are so upbeat! I got this quote today from my SIL -- thought I would share it with you...

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
