hidden places

Do you ever drive past a place numerous times, feel intrigued by it, want to check it out, and yet never do so?

I have driven past this sign many times on my way to Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Doesn't it look like a place you would want to visit? It's a B & B, although the BB is hidden by the pretty knockout roses.

Yesterday, I decided to turn into the gravel road and take a look.

Are you feeling a little intrigued yet? I am (sorry the photo is not the best as it is a through the front windshield photo)

There's a stranded blue canoe off to the right.

An old log cabin ahead beckons (sorry, another blurry windshield photo)

Love this addition at the back of the log cabin with stained glass panels hanging in all the windows. I wonder what the room is used for.

and yes, there is a second log cabin.

it too has an addition in the back with a rocking chair porch.

Oh how I wish I could have stayed and lazed the afternoon away, but other places were calling my name.

  1. What a neat place, Laura- I love to discover those little, off-the-beaten-path places. I wonder what that big room IS used for. I think you need to go back there. It didn't look like there was a soul in sight- xo Diana

  4. I will take a turn down an unknown road when i come across one~ I'm always wondering if i'm going to come across the Boogie Man as he jumps out at me from the woods. I watched too many scary movies in the 80's. Ya think?
I'm intrigued by the stained glass...you'll have to go back and investigate!
