Changes in the air

What is it about this time of the year that makes us think of changes. Is it the change in the light? I notice that it is becoming softer.

Maybe it's the change in our gardens. Some of the flowers are becoming leggy, letting us know that their time is almost over.

Children are returning to school. I can hear them outside my bedroom window, early in the morning as they make their way to the school bus.

These things are telling me that summer is winding down and soon it will be autumn.

I have noticed that others are feeling the changes, too. They are talking about changes in their emotions and changes to their blogs.

It's a special time of year. I can almost feel magic in the air.

Yes, changes come for all of us. It's a part of life. It's how we embrace these changes that matters. And, we also know that as much as things change, so many things stay the same. It is the constants in our lives that help us to embrace the changes.

  1. I see the changes in the flowers, in the gardens, and in my blog...

And I am embracing the new light, the softer more golden late summer light, it's one of my most favorite times to be a photographer.

  3. I love fall, especially this year since it was such a brutal hot and dry summer. I have been trying to make some changes in my life, but things seem to have stalled. Maybe fall will make things move.

  5. I can't wait to feel change of temperature. August is the hottest month of the year in South Florida. Some time around the end of October the weather is nice again.

  7. I love fall. It is my favorite season. I'm really noticing it in my garden now too. The tomatoes and apples are so early this year! Fall is creeping in, and although it's my favorite, I know that it always precedes a long, cold winter.

  10. Yep- I can feel the changes coming, too, Laura! I love Fall but it always makes me feel a bit restless- nomadic...like I want to get somewhere before the hard winter blows in. I love the whole season itself though- xo Diana

  13. Yes, changes... I always wave goodbye to summer with mixed emotions because as much as I love the colors of autumn, I too love the excitement of summer. But, so it goes...
