ketchup

This post really isn't about ketchup, it's about catching up. I have had a lot of things going on this week, which culminated in my sister's husband, who is an invalid, taking a header into the dresser. My sister has familial tremor and doesn't drive much, so after getting him into an ambulance, I drove her to the hospital. Several hours and 12 stitches later, we headed home.

I have been feeling anxious this week. They finally scheduled my surgery for May 17th, but I am suddenly having some other health concerns, which I need to get in and have checked out. May be just related to stress, but I think I may have an infected tick bite. SIGH!!

I think I need a little stress relief, so I am going to enjoy the weekend and get caught up on some things.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter.

  4. I'm so sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns and dealing with so much stress. They really go hand in hand you know. One can cause the other. It's just a vicious cycle. I would take time to make sure that you have appropriate doctor appt's scheduled to get everything looked at and treated. Then take some time for yourself to do things you enjoy so you can de-stress. Be optimistic that "This too shall pass". I tell myself that when I'm feeling overwhelmed. It helps.

  13. All things in good time. Try not to stress about what is going to happen before its time. Then you have to worry about it twice.

  14. Sorry to hear about your sister and her husband. Hope all is well! Yuck ticks....we were down helping my FIL in the yard on Friday and when we went into the house my husband had a deer tick on him. Now we are walking around feeling like something is crawling on us. I hate that feeling! Hope you are okay! Have a delightful Easter!

  16. So so sorry things have been bad of late. But I know with your wonderful attitude things will be better soon. Just think of all the great things you will be able to do with new knees. That will put a smile on your face for sure.
    Happy Easter,

  17. I do hope things settle down for you. I always find that the waiting for the surgery is worse than the actual procedure.

PS I was in a store today that really used burlap in some unusual ways....I normally do not care for it, but I really liked the creativity I saw today! I like the cabinet skirt in your previous post, too.

  19. I'm sorry, I hope I don't sound negative, but we just heard a speaker who has dealt with the effects of Lyme disease for the past ten years and she made us PROMISE that if we ever got a tick bite that looked infected that we get into a doctor and INSIST upon the antibiotic doxycycline. Even without that concern, it sounds like you need some rest and relaxation! It is so hard to keep balance when life is throwing difficulties left and right!

  20. Dear Laura,
I hope you feel better soon.
    Try to breathe...
Close one nostril and inhale with the one open. Close that one and open the other one and exhale... and alternate like that, breathing for a minute or two...
A friend told me to do that when my mind was so busy I could not THINK anymore...
    It helps.
Yes, please go to the doctor, I worried when I read the comment above. Better check!
Regarding your surgery, what works for me when something is far away is to think about them later. Prepare for it, but worry the day before, for example. At least there will be less days of worry! This is what I did when my son went to China on a school trip. every time I thought about it, I decided to worry when the date was closer!
Hopefully our love from far away brings you some comfort!
    Happy Easter!

  22. A tick bite doesn't sound good. Go check it as soon as possible.
I hope you feel better by now. Don't worry, it all will be fine, I know it.
Just keep the sunshine in your eyes!
